There’s an easy answer as to why the CNN moderator framed the question to Warren that way and it’s because it was their scoop and they had to defend/stand by it. Guarantee you that Warren’s campaign would’ve leaked that story to whatever outlet happened to be hosting the next debate for the sole purpose that it would get them to stand behind it on stage.

  2. replying to tweets with snake emojis is misogyny, it was fucked up that OKC fans were being so misogynistic to Kevin Durant in 2016

The way (most of them) are reacting now is fucking stupid and isn't going to help either candidate's campaign.

Just imagine if the House was still holding impeachment hearings to air out all of the corrupt shit Trump has done.

One of the many, many reasons why the House should have slow walked impeachment to root out all of Trump's corruption is to suck up all the oxygen so shit like this couldn't break through.

Yeah, sure she said that, but come on we know what the implications of the whole story are, right? The reason the story exists in the first place?

I'd bet a lot of money that the average person who read her response stopped at "he disagreed" and also can't define the word punditry.

  11. The same thing millions of people talk about all the time and there have been thousands of barrels of ink spilled on? The question of can, in 2020, a woman win the highest office against Trump? The "electability" argument that is on the tips of everyone's tongues. I agree with Dave Klion on this, it exists as part of the larger narrative hanging over this entire primary, largely because it's been said and thought by virtually everyone after 2016. It's probably what has led to a very white primary with only one woman. People are terrified of getting this wrong.

  12. You think the average person can't define the word punditry? Well, one, I disagree, but to get in a good joke: Sorry, the talking point is supposed to be that Warren supporters are too educated.

Didn't Bernie confirm the script telling people to go after Warren was real? Dishonest framing of the situation like this helps no one but Biden and Trump.

Pretty sure they already released a statement saying that her being NA wasn't why she got the job at the time that story dropped.....and this seems to be Harvard beating it's chest about it's own diversity, not some statement Warren herself put out.

Right and that’s definitely what Bernie was talking about a year ago to her. No doubt in my mind he said some version of this. But it is not at all how her campaign is framing it or how she framed it last night. CNN gave her the chance to say all of this last night and she easily could have. Instead she doubled down on the lie.

Yep...Bernie campaign confirmed it was an official script after a day or so of folks saying it was just made up by a mole.

Bernie also had the chance to make that clarification...

  18. Maybe that was the difference, effecting her hiring vs just claiming it or something. But, like, that should really not be allowed to happen

  19. I think it's entirely possible for a conversation to be taken differently by both parties involved in it. And for that not to be a lie.

  20. Yeah, there's more here about it.
Padilla, now at California Western School of Law, told POLITICO in an email that she doesn't remember the details of the conversation with Chmura, who is now at Babson College and didn't respond to a request for comment. It is unclear whether it was Padilla's language or Chmura's.

The description of her as a minority is coming from the same person - Chmura - whose comments to the Crimson sparked the original story about her heritage, and Warren's camp argued it's old news.

I just got a trophy for 10,000 posts, which I really think should come with a week long ban, minimum.

Anyway stream Not Lovely, vote Bernie, don’t let these centrist hacks divide us to keep their dystopian grift alive!!

Well I’ll say this in response: she’s either lying about the conversation or she’s been lying every time she’s said she’s known and been friends with Bernie for years. Because both things can’t be true.

Both sides are trying to frame the situation in the lighting that looks best to them?

  25. Sure they can. I don't know how you could come to this conclusion at all.
