Warren polling in a close 2nd/3rd in Iowa right now is far from being a dead campaign btw. If she pulls off the win there, she's off to the races just like some of the other candidates would be. Even Klobuchar's not dead in the water yet. She could pull off a surprise in Iowa.

 

If a Bernie supporter doesn't vote for Liz in the general it is because they were never going to vote for Liz in the general. This incident doesn't change anything.

I’m sorry I just don’t buy it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I don’t buy how you can know who Bernie is, know his record, know him *personally* as Warren does, and think he is a sexist who believes a woman could never be president. It just doesn’t track. It’s dishonest and is directly contradicted by video and written records. Bernie himself was trying to draft Warren to run in 2015, and only ran himself when she decided she would rather defer to Hillary instead. She knows what he was trying to say in 2018 and she’s twisting it to try and torpedo his campaign 3 weeks before the first caucus.

 

The moderaters shaping it as "a woman can win the presidency" instead of "a woman can't be trump" is also highly annoying me considering those are two very different discussions and would point to Bernie saying very different things.

 

She validated it by saying "I disagreed with him" when the moderator asked that loaded question. She's not innocent and she knows exactly what she's doing.

 

Yeah that exchange was ridiculous and completely gave away the whole game in a single instance.

 

it doesn't matter man, somehow it's bernie's team/supporters that are at fault for how they're reacting to the one candidate who has a legitimate life-long commitment to preventing climate change and unnecessary death due to war, poverty, and healthcare being painted negatively by the media and by the one other candidate who was supposed to be his friend and that we were supposed to embrace and support as a strong ally and second choice in the primary.

 

I was giving her the benefit of the doubt up until that point - but she made her choice. Unfortunate and I am very disappointed.

 

It never ceases to amaze me that we've been at this for almost a year and no fucking votes have been cast. It is honestly a miracle that the two have been this cordial for so long.

 

She had a real chance to say something “I don’t think Bernie is a sexist, of course he believes a woman can be president, and I believe he likely misspoke when we met a year ago” or something like that and still saved some face for her campaign. But instead she doubled down with that “I disagreed” trash.

No a lot of them are reacting like total assholes and should be called out for it. I have high school students who can control their reactions to shit better than some of these 'adults'.

 

Also I remember when the Native American shit was going down and people said she never used it as a point for anything but her own heritage, but HLS' press office allowed her to be called their first WoC professor which is pretty damning. This got brought up when the DNA test happened and I thought I had read it was debunked but, here it is in print.

 

Exactly. But let's face it - they share a similar voter pool and I wouldn't be surprised if she thinks she has to do something to grab a stronger hold on the base. They need something to move the needle at this point.

so when bernie's been nothing but supportive towards warren and her campaign and then gets thrown under the bus like this his supporters are just supposed to...what exactly? what would you expect them to do? say "oh bummer oh well still happy to have warren in the race im sure if she gets the nomination and we work hard to campaign for her in the general she definitely won't do it again towards the left!"
