I like both albums a lot. Need more time with the new one to truly compare personally.

Thrice moves up release date for “Beggars” in response to album leak

Info about leak july 23, so I guess it was July. Felt earlier to me.

 

Seven years ago is a long time, haha. Within a month ain't bad.

 

A few more. Dustin sounded so on point for this show.

 

Somehow I missed that he was in Chattanooga until I found out an hour before the concert started. I was so pissed to be so close and to miss it.

 

It was the first time I had ever been to that venue. It's called The Camphouse. There couldn't have been more than like 75 people there. Perfect setting really. @Gjpeace was there.

 

As Eric said, it was a great show. The Camp House books some great people every now and then: I've seen Noah Gundersen there twice now. Sorry to hear that you missed it though; I know that feeling well. Are you in the Chattanooga area? I go to a lot of shows, and it's always nice to meet people who actually know the music I like!

 

Knoxville. I'm really familiar with Chatt, though. I went to Bryan. I've not heard of The Camp House. Where is it at in the city?

 

Ah. I'm pretty familiar with Knoxville! I end up seeing a lot of shows at the Bijou (my favorite venue, actually), and I've attended Big Ears Festival downtown for the past three years. The Camp House is downtown on MLK Boulevard, about a block down from Miller Plaza and pretty much directly across from the Bessie Smith center. JJ's Bohemia and Champy's are right down the road from it too. It's regularly a coffee house, but it acts as a venue too, usually for folk/country-type artists with religious leanings. It's a really beautiful space.

 

Yep it's a real good spot. It was actually the first time I've been there. Going back and watching those videos, I can't get over how good Dustin sounds.

 

Nickelback sells more than Thrice I guess that means they are better.

EDIT: I am super happy for Thrice for getting newer fans and more radio play! Black honey is on rotation here in St Louis and I haven't heard them play Thrice since Image of the Invisible. I sort of credit the new success to how safe the album is and how it's fitting to the newer indie style "rock" that is big these days.

 

I like the record a lot, but saddly it's not

 

I'm only comparing Thrice to Thrice. And TBEItBN is a more successful and popular record than M/m. It's really not even a debate at this point.

But, it's totally cool if you like M/m more. Popularity doesn't take away from your own preference. However, every metric points to TBEItBN being a better record to the majority of people; even the production and artwork are better. I won't rehash the billboard, record sales, ticket sales, set list points again.

The debate between Vheissu and Beggars is still ongoing but the majority of people have made it clear that this is a better record than Major/minor.

Similarly, Blink's California is a more popular record than Neighborhoods was, but there are still plenty of people who love Neighborhoods.

And having been at multiple shows post-M/m and TBEItBN release, there's an energy at these recent shows that wasn't there when the sets had more M/m songs being played. And the current set list, with only Yellow Belly, reinforces that point.

(And we still haven't heard The Window, my favorite track, or Whistleblower live yet.)

 

The Window is probably my favorite track off the new record as well.

 

I think the first four tracks on Everywhere marks their best 15 to 17 minute-ish stretch on any album as a band.
