The people tweeting this have a very bad understanding of how phone banking works.

I was making a joke about all the weirdos yelling that Bernie should apologize for every one shitty fan who says something slightly mean. It's only gonna get worse tho, ugh.

Okay but they haven't figured out a way to do it that sticks, it'll get worse eventually

Or they'll go back to that he's racist, it'll be 2016 allover again

i was more just pointing out that those folks don't understand that the dummy numbers are/can be used by multiple campaigns, and that you sometimes get contacted from someone in your area. I know I've gotten texts from Bernie and Warren asking me to volunteer to remotely phone bank for them both in Iowa and in Delaware (which is weird because why spend energy here already but whatever).

Also Warren really wants me to hose a debate watch party in my area lol

Warren's comms director declined to comment. How is that not playing right into their hands? Even if it's a fuck up rather than a malicious move, it's still a fuck up

Tbh I didn't know that but it is annoying. Sometimes they think somewhere that's an hour away is close but like hell no it is not. Its probably all based on algorithms.

Isn't not commenting on unsubstantiated rumors the usual move? To me the blame is on CNN for running this. Will be nice to hear more from Warren.

If she brings it up at the debate as the first statement she makes and knows it down, that would be cool and it would be big and in context and nice. If it's still crickets then, very not good.

you can either be the "civility"-candidate or you can be the "I will absolutely let rumors about my supposed friends' sexism linger"-candidate.

If you're gonna hate on Warren it should have been when she took that dna test and promoted the idea of blood quantum. She still has not properly addressed the harm that caused.

But no the fundraising email was the problem for a lot of Twitter last night lol

Well, clearly the media/Dem establishment backlash against Bernie is starting. We can't just ignore these stories even if they are complete bullshit, but how do we deal with this without getting consumed in the minutia of arguments and blaming people for things that ultimately shouldn't matter?

She still absolutely gets shit for that, it just never became as big of a story because msm have no idea how to take about First Nations in any proper way and didn't want to risk seeming racist so they stayed away.

If the tables were turned and CNN reached out to the Bernie campaign with a report that Liz told him in a private conversation that a Jewish person could not win...I have absolutely no doubt that the Bernie campaign would offer more than "no comment." I believe that in my fucking bones.

And I think a lot of that just comes down to differences in staffing for the respective campaigns. A lot more traditional political people are in the Warren campaign and this strikes me as a consequence of that.

Focus the blame on the the media for creating the distractions and the division, instead of using it as fuel to attack the other candidates which just creates more division

Technically, they asked her staffer but it's been awhile so not nearly as bad but if Warren herself said no comment, that would be much worse.

I know. And I think the knee-jerk "no comment" is a consequence of staffing more traditional / establishment folks.

Didnt want to risk seeming racist or mostly controlled by old white people who don't see what the big deal was beyond her claiming being a POC
