Nothing was as bad as the AbsolutePUNK line, but it was certainly misguided

The line about connecting more with music made by white people definitely gives that competition.

We all have growing to do in different ways, I hope you recognize why we reacted the way we did and evaluate how you can best grow from that

quit picking on Lucas, they're having a difficult time on this site.

for one they were excited to read through 10 pages of calimari discussion only to be disappointed.

I was trying to offer a counterpoint as to why there wasn’t much diversity on the year-end list and in attempting to justify the lack of diversity it came across as very tone-deaf (and unflattering to the site honestly) and if I was thinking at all before I posted it I wouldn’t have done so.

There was a legit point I was trying to make, that it’s okay (and normal) to have been most moved by music that falls within your demographic, and I was trying to show grace to the contributors on this site after some of the critiques in here, but I think I accidentally made the point that we should be ambivalent about diversity in our music circles and in the music we consume, and that we’re by nature always going to be most moved by art within our own demographic (which is untrue and potentially very troubling).

So basically, in an attempt to spark helpful discussion I really didn’t help anyone. It was a stupid post.

It's okay, I think a lot of people work through that same thought process.

  24. if it helps, this one is a very good post!

They fixed your brain when you were young.

Also, major ups to you for realizing it could have all been more tactful. 99% of people online, or anywhere in life, will make some kind of mistake and never walk back on it out of pride. So kudos to you, my friend.
