Oh, for sure. I'm not claiming they were the first, or even the most influential. Just that you can hear Metallica riffs and the influence of Hetfield's right hand in almost every heavy band to come out since.

edit: also, just seemed like a glaring blindspot for someone who listens to Creeping Death, to not have ever really listened to Metallica.

American Psycho is a movie and novel I absolutely love but it’s become one of those entertainment things that has been co-opted by incels that worship Patrick Bateman so I always have to put the disclaimer that I understand that Bateman is not sympathetic

I do love it though. It and Jaws have the most fascinating public zeitgeist surrounding them. Like I feel if you ask most people they’d consider them both horror movies or scary movies which is really weird

too bad bret easton ellis is more of a creep than a genius

 

american psycho is funny satire and the screenplay and acting is good. and it was directed by a woman, I think she knocked it out of the park.
