I was OBSESSED with Metallica for a good decade or more. Still a big fan, but I can see their faults a lot more now.

The first 5 records are essential though and if you're a metal or hardcore fan, every band you like was influenced by them and you should definitely listen to those records.

I totally get not reaching for the Metallica records very often any more though. I've heard all of them enough for a lifetime probably. Every now and then I'll get the itch and go on a little binge, but it's like once every couple years.

And Justice For All is underrated as hell and Ride The Lightning + Master Of Puppets are masterpieces
