    Ideal lineup on Sunday:

    Crown the Empire
    Emarosa
    I See Stars
    Motionless in White
    Secrets
    The Color Morale
    The Word Alive
    Too Close to Touch
    Yellowcard

Only band that would trump me seeing Yellowcard is Too Close to Touch.

Why would a crazy heavy band like Architects play journeys and not monster...

    I'm hoping most of the bands I want to see fall in the first half of the day so I don't have to stay the entire time;

knowing my luck, ETID will now play last.

There are so many bands that seem like they would draw well and fit Warped but at the same time I can see them never being on the tour. Modern Baseball, Sorority Noise, Tiny Moving Parts, Tigers Jaw, Turnover...

I'll be wandering around all day today, and my wrist is in a cast. The only guarantee is
I'll be at most of these. Gryffindor backpack and a blue cast on my arm.

My girlfriend got sick last night, so I will be going to Warped solo today. The only other time I have gone alone was in 2014, and I actually had a blast. No schedule conflicts with friends, the ability to go from stage to stage at my own pace, to eat when I want to, etc.

That mock schedule has way too many heavy bands to be reasonable. If anything, I think the tour is trying to involve less Metal/Hardcore right now.

Just got back from Auburn Hills and today was a lot of fun! It wasn't necessarily the best Warped Tour, but it was definitely a top-tier year. The only big thing holding me back from saying it was awesome was the weather, honestly - the heat was just so terrible today and the sun wouldn't let up, especially between 5:30 and 7:30. Aside from that, I watched a lot of great sets and had a lot of fun!

The morning started at 6:45, when I woke up. I gathered a few last minute things and my friend Dillon picked me up about a half hour later. We drove down, sharing bands we wanted to see and got to the venue around 9:30 AM. We both didn't have tickets yet, so we wanted to make sure we'd get some well before doors. We parked the car and went to the gate, to find that they were actually doing the Feed Our Children Now deal. We each paid $5 to get in early, which was a godsend. We got tickets and hung out in the venue until doors officially opened at 10:45. I got in, grabbed a schedule and plotted my day.

The only conflict I had was The Maine vs. Motionless in White (my #3 against my #16)...easy decision. Everything else fell pretty perfectly into place. I was actually pretty surprised at how well it worked out.

The way my schedule worked out, I didn't have anything to do until noon, so I saw that Broadside was playing at 11:15. Seeing how much Brian was talking about them, I decided to check them out with some friends. After I bought The Maine's "Make America Emo Again" hat, I watched them and enjoyed them from what I saw. I only caught them do three songs, and then I went back inside. The venue actually had the SyFy channel on this 500" mega TV above the palace, and they had New Found Glory started at 12:00. They were a solid way to start the day and drew a pretty solid crowd that didn't take a lot of warming up. I felt the same way about State Champs who played at 12:30 immediately after. People went NUTS for them with tons of crowdsurfing, and the band sounded great - another solid way to begin the day.

After that, I went to refill my water and came back to watch the second half of We the Kings, who drew a huge crowd. They sounded really great - people went apeshit for "Check Yes Juliet." One little funny thing was that the band went over their set by about 3 minutes, and Kenny (the stage manager from Warped Roadies) was behind the band pitching a fit over it to their manager. I felt like I was watching an episode of the show come before me in real time. After that I went back inside, as I am an old man who is easily tired. On my way in, I saw Old Wounds was finishing up their set and I watched their last song. Small crowd, but the people there looked like they were having a blast. Really excited to watch them in a club this fall with Beartooth.

I went inside, got a pretzel and watched some of The Fifth Element. After that, I went outside to fill up my water and watch Reel Big Fish. I only got to see them do a couple songs, but they sounded solid. They did short covers of Smells Like Teen Spirit and My Own Worst Enemy, along with Sell Out and I Hate Your Guts (?).

I left a little early to get a decent spot for Atreyu, who drew a HUGE crowd. This was one of the best sets of the day, and I strongly encourage anyone remotely interested in watching them to do so. The band did an incredible job of getting energy up, and their bassist went into the pit for Right Side of the Bed. The band also played Bleeding Mascara, The Crimson, a Bon Jovi cover, Ex's and Ohs and a new song. Maybe one more, but I can't remember?
I then went to see Yellowcard, who I thought were pretty underwhelming. Their setlist was pretty boring and the crowd had hardly any energy - mostly filled with people in their late 20s/early 30s that didn't really feel like being there. I left after three songs and decided to fill up my water and get a good spot for Bullet for My Valentine. The band sounded really solid, though after Atreyu, it was a little underwhelming just watching a similar band play their instruments and not really interact with the crowd. Regardless of that, they sounded so good, and it was cool being able to watch one of their three or four shows.

I left after three songs to begin my incredible four band block: Sum 41, The Maine, Good Charlotte and 3OH!3. Sum was fantastic, and had an incredible amount of energy. When they played In Too Deep and Fat Lip, I couldn't believe I was actually there and getting to watch these songs getting played. It was one of the highlights. The Maine was next, and they were the best set of the day, hands down. Like Atreyu, even if you like them just a little bit, I'd highly recommend watching them. Their stage presence was great and they sounded fantastic. When they played "Growing Up," I couldn't help but bust out in tears - it was that powerful.

Good Charlotte was just as great as you would expect. Their crowd was massive and played a lot of great stuff. They brought up Brandon from Atreyu to perform M. Shadow's part on "The River." Only bummer was that they had to cut "I Just Wanna Live" short because someone in the crowd needed medical help. Aside from that, they were solid. 3OH!3 was next and they were a lot of fun. Because the band played medleys for most of their songs, they crammed a lot of stuff, both old and new into their set. As someone that really dislikes their new record, it was kind of a bummer having to sit through that stuff, but I'd be lying if I didn't say it was worth it to hear the stuff from Want. Their setlist is below from what I remembered.

Mad at You / Richman / Touchin' on My / ?
    Hear Me Now
    My First Kiss
    Starstrukk
My Dick / Don't Trust Me
    Punkbitch / Choke Chain

I went inside to rest, and debated staying inside or watching Every Time I Die. I decided that, looking back, it wouldn't matter how tired I was, but it would matter if I got to see a band I really liked, so I decided to watch them. They probably had the smallest crowd of any band I watched all day (probably due to it being so late in the day), but they still killed it. The crowd seemed to have fun, but there were so many fights and arguments that broke out in the pit, and it wasn't really a fun crowd to be a part of, unfortunately. I did see the band's going to be in Lansing next month, which will be a lot of fun to make up for it. On my way back over to the Main Stages, I saw Pat from The Maine talking to some people and I jumped in to tell him how great their set was, and he was super nice.

Next was my final block of four bands on the Main Stages, which I only ended up seeing two of. I stayed for Less Than Jake and Mayday Parade. The former was great as always, though I probably would have enjoyed myself more if the sun wasn't beating down so damn hard (same during ETID). The band brought out such a sick production, with a t-shirt gun and a device that shot out toilet paper. The band sounded great too. After that, I went over to the other Main Stage to watch Mayday, who sounded solid. They're a pretty consistent band, especially at Warped Tour, so while it wasn't super enthralling, it was a good set to end the day on.

After that, I decided that it was time for me to go home. In a perfect world, I would have stuck around to watch Set It Off and Real Friends, but my face hurt really bad and I could barely move, so we decided to just leave. Set It Off sounded great from what I was hearing though, and I'm sure Real Friends was solid.

Dillon and I left the park, went to Qdoba for burritos and got home around 10:45.

Overall, today was one of my favorite Warped Tour years. If the weather was better and I could have stuck around, it would rival '10 and '14 as my all-time favorite. I didn't really watch any bad sets, though there were sets I enjoyed more than others. I left this year as a HUGE fan of The Maine and Atreyu, and really excited to watch Sum 41, Good Charlotte, Less Than Jake again the next time they come through Michigan. If you asked me if I would go next year, I'd really have to think about it, but I'd probably say this is my last year. But then again, most people debate that every year and end up going... so who knows?

Another funny thing: I saw Eric, the drummer for We Came as Romans, in the pit for Every Time I Die yesterday, haha.
