Finished going through Common's albums because it had been years for a lot of them and I wanted to refresh my memory before I checked out the new one. I think he's really underrated in his consistency, I'm not crazy about his very first album and Universal Mind Control is a misfire even though I still think it has some fun songs, but everything else is great

Be is still one of my favorite rap albums ever

 

Common is definitely underrated

 

common's had some great albums and some weak ones too

 

Common in any commercial is so corny and I can’t take him seriously

 

Common has one of the best voices in not just hip hop, but all entertainment.

 

Easily in my top 10 songs of the decade.

 

i remember when i was trying to get into grime this was the first song i heard after shutdown and it became a staple in my workout playlist lol

 

Does Snoop Dogg have any essential albums besides Doggystyle? That's still the only one I've heard in full

 

I guess it’s maybe his only genre defining classic, if that’s what you’re asking, but he has a number of really good albums, some of which some call classics. The Doggfather is one people used to talk about a lot. My personal favorite is probably The Blue Carpet Treatment. R&G is one of the big 00s rap albums in terms of success. Even his last few have been received very well though.

 

I wouldn't say essential, but his 2017 album Neva Left is really good imo

 

I'll check some more out, probably all of the ones you guys listed and then maybe the one he dropped in 2019

 

I think I only listened to the 2019 album once, partly because it's so long and a lot of music came out last year, but I remember it being at least decent

I wouldn't say 'essential' but I really liked Tha Last Meal. I've never been a big Snoop guy. He's fine on features and Doggystyle obviously had some jams, but Tha Last Meal was really the only album I ever liked of his front to back. I also haven't really checked any of his stuff out in probably the last 10+ years.
