As far as I know government agencies can endorse candidates, but I may be wrong.

Trump's speech is pretty fascistic. He is clearly trying to appeal to older white folks with this Nixonian law and order rhetoric. I'm not certain this will work for him. It isn't that the country is less racist or fearful, it is that the electorate has fundamentally changed in such a way as to make these tactics more difficult to pull off successfully. He needs to make something like sixty five percent of white voters fearful of the black and brown hoards to have a viable strategy. Whilst having no illusions of solidarity among that population, there are intersecting economic interests, for example, that would preclude a large percentage from voting for Trump.

They run the largest news channel on Youtube, I believe they have over 3 million suscribers. They tend to very outspokenly progressive on most issues and were big Bernie supporters so that kind of made them targets for this type of shit at the RNC.

They make too many mistakes and I do not like Cenk. He denies the Assyrian/Armenian/Greek genocide. Literally heard him say the Ottoman Empire was "tolerant" when he had that three hour interview with Sam Harris on their channel past year. Incredibly fucking offensive to me. Surely there are better channels out there. Watch Secular Talk or David Pakman or something. You may not agree with them on every tiny thing but they don't lie or make shit up and they are very clearly socially liberal.

this seems like an odd position to take. bush was a monster but there is every indication that trump would be demonstrably worse, whether by following his own policy initiatives (fascist treatment of ethnic and religious groups) or if the rumors are to be believed, those of his VP pick, who seems every bit as deviously terrible as bush.

it's odd to compare someone who had 8 years in office with someone who hasn't even had their first election yet.

Yeah personally I don't like the Young Turks cause of one of the dude's denial of the Assyria and Armenian genocides

although forget the trump comparisons, I do like the point at the end that we all now think of bush as that "dumb uncle". It's true, I do the same thing. We often forget about how catostrophic his administration really was and has pretty much lead this world to where it is now.

This was the first I actually watched a Trump speech in full, or not part of Last Week Tonight or something like that.

In reflection, the speech was pretty bad. He was disjointed, rambling, and actually pretty low energy. He spoke for far too long, and that shit he does with his hands is really distracting.

The whole "only I have the solutions" thing would be pretty comical if it wasn't so scary.

speeches shouldn't be longer than 30 minutes. 45 is acceptable for a convention, i suppose. an hour fifteen is actually insane.

I believe Uygur has rescinded what he wrote about the Armenian genocide, although it's pretty baffling that he ever had that view in the first place

I like TYT, although I find them to be a bit too partisan at times (Iadarola is better than his cohosts on this front, though). Haven't checked out Secular Talk or any other similar channels

They seem to embody the disposition of most of the American far left as far as I can tell. Too bleeding heart. They always take the emotional appeal route instead of the logical route, and that annoys me. For all of the brilliant leftists that i see in print on the internet, I don't know that I've ever seen one look intelligent on the screen.
