I mean, it’s hard to say, it’s been a long time. Q-Tip is a good way to go.

I’d be down for that. Although I couldn’t tell you a single Def Jam release released in the last 10 years haha

Yeah you could, there’s a lot of them, they just don’t heavily use the name to market their releases anymore. They also distribute etc. a lot of small-ish but popular labels, such as G.O.O.D. Music. A lot of big rappers release through Def Jam in one way or another.

listened to Joey Bada$$ 1999 mixtape yesterday and I was sad how far he has fallen for me personally.

I don’t even know I just loved that boom bap sound he has used for the first mixtape and after that his next two releases did nothing for me.

Tbh even 1999 didn’t really do it for me because I had listened to better boom bap for like 12 years at that point. I always felt he was more of a gateway artist. I do think that sound suited him more than what he has done since then though, it made him stand out a little more.

don't trust a rap albums list that doesn't have everythings for sale on it!!!

    hey you lil piss baby

I like that both DaBaby projects are on there. I feel like people didn’t give Kirk enough credit and everyone gravitated to Baby on Baby (which *is* the better project imo, they’re just both great!!)

it's not a great list, but it had a few on there I hadn't heard yet... NoCap, Billy Woods, Calboy

Any of them worth checking out?

I finally made my year end list so if I'm talking purely hip hop, my top ten is:

    1. Mavi - let the sun talk
    2. Davis the Dorchester Bully - Green Parakeet Suite
    3. Joshua Virtue - Post Faith Dialogues
    4. Earthgang - Mirrorland
    5. Free Snacks - Fast Food
    6. Freddie Gibbs - Bandana
    7. Rico Nasty - Anger Management
    8. Mike - Tears of Joy
    9. Earl Sweatshirt - Feet of Clay
    10. Malci - Papaya!

That Billy Woods album is number 11.

I feel like I have to check out this Roddy Rich album because the dude just came out of no where. I’ve seen a lot of my friends post about him and it seems like everyone loves his music.
