Promise (This was really tough for me! I’d Do Anything is an iconic song of theirs and it’s deserving of winning, but I like the vocals a little more in Promise so I’ll give it the slightest edge)

The Rest Of Us (Brutal matchup - these are two of my favorite songs that I discovered during this bracket. I don’t like choosing between the two, but I’ll go with The Rest Of Us because it just sounds massive)

 

Well, this is it. Seems like everyone has got their votes in. Personally, I would consider that first match-up a bit of an upset. I'm sad to see The Rest Of Us go down, but Jet Lag is a great song worthy of the finals.

It all comes down to this. I'm excited to see which song is going to win! I also want to take the time to thank all of you for participating in this bracket. This is a band that has meant a lot to me over the years, and it was really cool to be able to do something like this for their music. It was great going back and listening to everything, especially their older stuff. I'm really looking forward to their new album in 2020. It should be interesting to hear what it sounds like. Anyway, thanks again. Now let's pick our winner!

This was a tough decision! Promise is a song that sounds more what I’d expect them to sound like, but I really enjoy that Jet Lag is unique and still catchy at the same time.

A big thank you to @pbueddi for running this for the past month and to everyone for participating. It’s been fun! I had a good time catching up on their discography and discovering lots of new songs.

I see them talked about on this site a lot, but have never actually listened to them. I might have to do that soon. Any recommendations for specific songs/albums?

 

My favorite albums of theirs are After The Party (from 2017) and On The Impossible Past (from 2012). Either would probably be a good starting point!

 

Damn I missed the last round, would have voted for I’d Do Anything too. Oh well.

I found it kind of surprising that our winner didn't come from one of the earlier albums, but that just speaks to the quality of this song. They did end up doing versions with other guest vocalists as well which was kind of cool. This song also did pretty well on song charts around the world.
