We’re briefing that he wanted a release clause so we said no. Sounds bollocks to me. He just has a better chance of playing and developing there.

    Lmao Arsenal you useless fucks.

To be fair Jorginho shouldn’t have even been on the pitch. Still hugely encouraged by those two performances, energy levels severely dropped in the second half today due to fixture pile up and not being used to playing at this intense a level for a while. Arteta’s done more philosophy wise in a week than Emery did in a year

Guendouzi could have been off too before the Jorginho tackle. But yeah Jorginho definitely should have seen red.

Agreed about Guendouzi, Chelsea were allowed to get away with a ton of fouls in the first half. Only criticism of Arteta is the first sub should’ve been Pepe on not Özil off. Allowed Chelsea to really take hold even though they barely created anything of substance before the howler from Leno

That is fucking criminal. This can't be what VAR was meant for. holy shit.

already admitted they dont have the correct frame rate for decisions like that, decisions that close should be level until the technology improves

Var's ridiculous. Offside calls should only be subject to overrule when they're clear, if you have to spend 3 minutes redrawing lines then you can't argue the attacker had any real advantage in the play.

Am i crazy or were these lines not used in the World Cup and such? Like why is it being used this way, wtf

I don't recall. But the Bundesliga has not had such issues with VAR and it hardly impacts the spirit of the game to such an extent.

Yeah i just don’t get why the BPL has such an issue getting it right

We actually had quite some issues with it in the beginning. But it's gotten a bit better over time.

Var is a net positive, there just needs to be some common sense in how it's utilized. The offside overrules are the biggest thing that need sorting; if it's understood that the technology isn't foolproof, it can't be the basis for calls that come down to a fraction of an inch. I think people are fine with giving an attacking side the benefit of the doubt when it's effectively indistinguishable, so all we're doing is adding controversy by looking for hairs to split.

Seems bonkers to spend significant time trying to determine whether a ball inadvertently grazed somebody's arm 70 yards from goal too, so it'd be helpful if we settled on something more sensible with handballs.

  19. Another thing refs are inconsistent about is letting a questionable offside play continue or to blow it dead right away.

There was a moment a couple games ago where we played the ball into the box to Sissoko but he was pretty clearly offside, so he kinda half-assed it when the ball landed at his feet. The rest of the team also stopped, as is did a good number of the opposing team. However, the goalkeeper picked up the ball and played it out quickly. This caught Spurs sleeping and they went on a break and scored.

I understand “play to the whistle” but these guys are so used to that kind of playing being blown dead and restarted.

where would i be if i was my brain Prestigious

Just put fucking sensors on players wrists and the ball.

I was actually discussing it with a fellow City supporter on Friday that a lot of the rules and laws need to be re-written for the VAR world.

I would love to see a world where there are more free kicks taken in the box as opposed to iffy penalty calls.

I played as Frankfurt, first time I've managed abroad for a while. All the good players are so cheap compared to England!

I’ve bought 5 “Championship” level players from Germany for about 10m total. They’re all great for me in pre season so far.

    how good is FM?
also, if you can, does it compare to the depth of OOTP?

    Sam

It's not as in depth with stats as OOTP, but it'll probably fill a similar urge.

FM is all about managing and you can get really fiddly with it, setting up training, mentoring, scouting, etc. I have played it for far too many hours over the past decade so I'll always recommend it especially if you like OOTP style games.

Edit: Just done some quick maths, I have 4653 hours on FM games since 2010. That's quite a bit =/
