yea that one, but the one that came with I am a Nightmare said single from upcoming record, with another single dropping in the summer

 

In the press release for IAAN they said to was the first single from their upcoming album

 

The next announcement they put out confirms that IAAN is from the forthcoming LP later this year

 

If we don't get an album I'll be stunned

I would honestly be shocked if Mene was on the full-length album. It was released as a digital single over a year before this album comes out, and now it has a physical release on this 7".

I've always been under the impression that it was just a single release to build some excitement in 2015 and drive the tour dates....It's been released twice now. I doubt they'll release it again on yet another format.

IAAN is the only track confirmed to be on the album. I would also bet it's 99% that Sealed To Me is on there too, but no Mene or Out of Range.

 

I just don't expect a long roll out for this.. I expect a single and then the record in a month

 

Information Report: Brand New - "I Am A Nightmare"

 

Sonically Mene and IIAN sound so different enough to me that I personally can't see how they would fit together on the same album.

 

sometimes i think about getting 8-10 new brand new songs and my head just feels like its going to explode.. like I can't even imagine that it could actually happen

 

could say the same about not the sun and sowing season. or vices and you stole

 

it would be interesting if every song on this record was mixed by a different big name producer.. as long as all of it is recorded in the same studio space then they could make that work

 

Tate said the post Daisy demos he's heard were some of the best songs the band has ever done in his opinion, but for some reason they were scrapped for the more straightforward sound (ex IAAN)

 

i'm not trying to compare loud to quiet or fast to slow. Mene and IIAN are both straightforward, fast songs that to me, feel completely different from one another. When I listen to them back to back it's really jarring but I couldn't say the same for the examples you listed.

 

pretty much all of the stuff they've put out this year has been "surprise release"-ish so i feel like the album may operate in the same way lol

 

I disagree. Hell Vices to Bed is very jarring.

 

Vices to Bed is so cool. I love the drastic shift. It's like driving at high speeds only to break to a full hault. It's like "What more surprises await me, Daisy?"

 

yea but daisy sounds like it was all recorded in the same space..

the thing that is important to me is can I believe that these songs were recorded in the same room. when I listen to music, and this may be weird, but I like to be able to picture the record being played as a performance, if I feel like Im in a different space for every song than I don't get that continuity

 

I mean if you listen to Daisy and get used to it sure. But play Vices and Bed back to back to a layperson and they wouldn't believe it's the same band, nevermind a one two on a bands 4th album.

Basically Bed sucks

 

Bed is awesome

 

i would never make my mom go through Vices.

 

I like "Bed" but mostly because I love the instrumentals on that track. The soft guitars sound so good. It has some of the worst lyrics from the band though (the clown line, followed by "too me she's just a dead spy" make me cringe every time).

 

That's what they did though.....
