  1. Still need to watch The Next Generation. Maybe tonight. I also got a copy of In the Mouth of Madness for Christmas that I'm very excited to sit down with.

Anyone here seen Prince of Darkness?

Both In the Mouth of Madness and Prince of Darkness are great. It’s easy for Carpenter’s lesser-known works to get overlooked but i loved both of these ESP Prince of Darkness

After being impressed by Deep Red, which I highly recommend, I decided to give another Dario Argento film a watch and this time it was Phenomena which is equally weird, fun and satisfying while it went in directions I wanted it to go in but really wasn't expecting.

I loved it, thought it was hilarious
    That's a very personal question!

Also I'm very much here for Ruby Modine to become a scream queen

I thought it was decent enough, but I definitely enjoyed Ready or not a lot more

Yeah I liked Ready or Not more too...Samara Weaving nailed it

    Doing fine. Prestigious

Samara Weaving is great in everything. Haven’t seen her in a role I didn’t enjoy. I’m not familiar with Satanic Panic. I’ll have to check it out.

I'm finally watching Midsommar and without getting spoiler-y, it's super rude to yell at your hosts about their own traditions lol

Edit: Americans are still the worst lol

  11. Wow, In the Mouth of Madness was absolutely BONKERS and exactly the kind of film I love. Often flawed, but ambitious and unique enough for me to almost completely overlook that. And even for the 90s, the ending feels ahead of it's time. Just a truly scary piece of existential horror. Fitting that it's one of Ari Aster's favorites.

  13. Putting my Shudder subscription to good use.

I watched Hagazussa, and holy shit. This was deeply unsettling and very good. I went into it knowing nothing and was stunned. Definitely the horror surprise of the year for me.

Haunt was very entertaining. I'll probably recommend it to friends next Halloween.

Beast was an interesting one. Not really a horror, but it's in the genre territory with the subject matter and psychological thriller vibes. While I probably won't go back to it, there are some interesting themes and a good performance from Jessie Buckley. Strong directorial debut for Michael Pearce.

Also, I saw Anna and the Apocalypse (on Prime). Didn't care too much for it, but I typically don't like musicals so idk what I was expecting.

That needs a Blu-ray release so bad.

I also had an underwhelming three horror film bill today with Motel Hell, Velvet Buzzsaw and The Banana Splits Movie being complete letdowns.

I picked up a few things thanks to him! Recent ones were the F13 8-movie collection, Hereditary, and after chatting with him I grabbed the 7-movie Chucky collection too.

I don't think it really qualifies for this thread, but I like Ready or Not a bunch. The ending was so great. I think You're Next did a better job at telling a similar story, but this was fun and def worth a watch.
