So mene was mixed by Someone different.. i wonder if they got someone different to mix every song on the record

 

I believe the consensus was that they didn't have time to finish their set, so You Won't Know had to be played fast.

Why don't people think it will be on the record? I think if anything, this 7" single release would prove that it will be on there. I have no clue obviously, but think there are more signs to it being on the album than not.

 

I'm glad Out Of Range is officially out. I love that song.

 

It's so good, it might be my favorite Brand New track. Might be. I could make a strong argument for it.

 

Out of Range sounds absolutely wonderful. Mene still sounds incredibly grating to me and it might be one of my least favorite songs by them.

 

Really like Mene. Think it's so much better than I Am A Nightmare.

 

To be fair, I haven' had anything to write about since Radiohead! Haha. I don't really have anything until September, which is fine because I have an EP coming out in a couple weeks.

 

i don't get why they scrapped out of range if that is indeed what happened. it's easily in the upper tier of songs that they've ever written.

also wish i could join in on the debate of what and what will not make the new album's cut, but i'm still convinced its never coming.

So I'm very far behind. Out Of Range is the song from 2013 that we debated was possibly Brand New right? That was a fun thread. Cool that they remastered it. Sounds great.

So we have Mene, I Am A Nightmare, and a live version of Sealed To Me. We now have several versions of the demos. So I guess they're just trying to get everything together before LP5?

 

Was aloC-acoC ever officially released besides the Sowing Season B-Side (or was it Jesus)? I'd love to have that on my digital catalog without having to go to YouTube or download it through other means.

 

It was only released with Sowing Season. I have that single on cd. Would be cool to own it on vinyl too.

I'm placing my bets on Mene and IAAN being back to back on the album, in that order.

 

maybe the Vin-ness or because it didn't fit in anywhere?

really it makes me wish we had access to more of their unused work. i've listened to out of range a ton over the years

And they've already emptied it. Files gone forever.

 

imagine spending several years writing and tracking songs. painstakingly revising and tweaking things. a grueling mixing process with dozens of iterations and notes. then one day they're like "nah" and drag it into Trash. empty the Trash. back to the drawing board.

 

this seems most likely to me. and props to them. they gotta be making a killing with these one off releases every month or so.

was it though? looking at the procastinate announcement, it just says "release" which could really just be any of the singles they've put out this year already.
