Thank you! This helped me find out which one it was from, the scene I was thinking about is from Nightmare on Elm Street 4.

The mom pulls up to the house where Kristen and her friends are hanging out/smoking, honks her horn and says “Kristen, get the hell away from that house” *taps car door twice* “Andale! Andale!”

Black Christmas was effective and for the most part enjoyable but if I'm going to watch a seventies slasher film I'd take Halloween over that, which is hardly a controversial choice but I find the latter to be better in every area. Curious now about how the latest remake of it compares.

a band I work with called Only On Weekends wrote a Gremlins song called Christmastime In Kingston Falls. They asked me to edit a video together for it, so I did. Figured those in this thread would appreciate it. Feel free to share it. Merry Gremlins Christmas! (Spoilers for the whole movie BTW)

edit: maybe I should have submitted this as news for the front page? oh well

Finally worked out why I prefer the third Exorcist film over the first and it only took two viewings and a whole lot of thinking. The first film is at its core about a family dealing with a horrific situation, which is good and all but I am much more drawn towards investigative films which is basically what the third film is at its core. Hope that makes sense but it is the primary reason I can think of for why my love for the third film is so great which is despite the clunky final act.

  7. Haunt was cool, but I fell asleep during the last 20 minutes or so

Not exactly horror-related, but I finally saw American Movie, and man. What a brilliant slice of 90s life in the midwest. Just so sweet and charming and sad and inspiring, all at once. I wish I could find a physical copy for less than $30. I had to track down a full movie link on Reddit because it's not even available to rent digitally anymore.

The Dead Don't Die was pretty bad

Is that meta 4th wall stuff a thing for Jim Jarmusch? Totally ruined the whole thing for me

What’s everyone’s Christmas horror of choice for tomorrow? Gremlins is the obvious one for me. Followed by Rare Exports probably. Maybe Krampus.

Got a great haul of horror films for Christmas with The Tomb of Ligeia, The Incredible Shrinking Man and The Comedy of Terrors plus I finally bought a Dario Argento film in the form of Deep Red which was superb and was far better than Suspiria.

I’m sure there are people who think the second is better, but I don’t recall anyone in here saying that.

The second one is more fun! Because the first one doesn’t have an ounce of fun instead focusing on a suffocating sense of dread and discomfort, while the second one is a genuinely fun slasher.

I’ve said it before and I’m sure i’ll say it again but TTCM is an unmatched classic in it’s style and story and I just don’t know if we’ll ever get anything else quite like it.

Anyone a fan of TTCM Next Generation? It was on HBO all the time as a kid and all I remember is young Renee Zellwiger and Matty McConaughey and a woman flashing her boobs because to a young boy in middle school, you remember every bit of nudity from cable TV

we've seen the shadow of the axe before Supporter

I watched it once a while back and enjoyed it alright. Matthew McConaughey being in it is actually what got me curious about it.

Still on the lookout for this one tbh. I sought out the third one and was not disappointed (it was not good at all but Viggo Mortensen??) Watching stuff like that with now big name A-listers is a blast.
