I didn’t like that they made it sound like he was literally her other half and their connection was unseen for countless generations but then he just died and was never mentioned or thought of again. If they were really a dyad I think we should have seen how she handled that loss.

 

Important capitalization there or else it would sound like Rey and Chewy kissed (he's may look like a boo but he's way too old for you Rey)

 

Also, Snoke said in TLJ he's the one who bridged their minds together

Which means the Emperor is the one who bridged them together ("Every voice you've heard was me")

Which means the Emperor must have known about them also just happening to be a dyad in the Force

Which means he should not have been surprised to learn that they were when he was stealing their life essence or whatever

 

I just watched that and it didn’t even occur to me.

 

I completely, 100% disagree. They've always had a connection and it's always been romantic from point 1. Enemies don't bridal carry the people they incapacitate them.
