I don't understand what they are doing with the AEW women's division. I thought Hikaru was the number one contender. How did they explain that?

 

The issue with the Dark Order angle is that there's no clear reason why they matter. The obvious build is Hangman joining (and it was confusing why Excalibur kept pointing out during the beatdown Page wasn't there, neglecting to mention that he's not in the Elite anymore. I was looking at the creepers trying to figure out if one looked like Page) and that's when they should have done the "initiation" angle.

It's just weird - Uno and Stu are supposed to be a top tag team as is so why waste what could be a big moment (an "initiation") on literally the kayfabe bottom of the totem pole tag team?

Also did anyone notice that there was a third guy (other than Beaver Boys) who had the purple mask with the logo on it?

 

My only guess would be Cutler.

I guess the only explanation is that Statlander beat Shida last time? It seems like they don’t have a plan and are just going week by week.

and while the tag division has been very entertaining, it’s getting kind of hard to follow with the lack of rules and the constant multi team tag matches. It seems like all the teams are just trading wins

 

This is the root of my issues with AEW thus far. It just feels like they try to get EVERYONE over, especially in the women's division. There's no Curt Hawkins or Ascension or Dana Brooke for someone like Wardlow to just squash and move on with. Sometimes you just NEED a jobber to have no defining story other than "I'm just a jobber"

Edge signed a new deal with WWE. PWinsider believes it’s an in ring contract

 

neither show really captured me last night. highlights were Jericho/Jungle Boy and the closing moments of the NXT women's title match and the aftermath.

i wanna like Dark Order but they are too fuckin Power Rangers. Evil Uno has been shit on the mic so far. they need a third member to serve as mouthpiece. if they felt a little less cartoon villain i could get behind it. the vignettes are money but as soon as they enter the arena it just dies.
