I just checked out Fuming Mouth and boy have I been missing out

 

When/if they express interest depending on the bands playing and the environment. If we're talking a seated venue seeing someone like Bob Seger or Tenacious D, maybe like 5 or 6 with proper ear protection? If we're talking Knocked Loose or Obituary where it's a GA show with moshers, probably at least 10...still with proper ear protection of course. IDK. I haven't thought too much about it, but it's definitely not going to be something I'm gonna force onto him. If he develops an interest in the music I listen to, fuck yeah. But I want it to come organically. The closest I've come to exposing him to metal right now is:

1) Playing Bang Your Drum by Angel Du$t as a part of our fun time playlist. Credit to @KidLightning for getting that one percolating. He loves it.

2) Acoustic versions of Thrice songs for the lullaby playlist to see to him.

3) Attempting to turn Runes To My Memory by Amon Amarth into a spoken word lullaby. Needless to say, my wife was simultaneously amused and not thrilled with that one.

 

This sounds like a good answer.

For some reason I read Bog Seger as Bob Saget at first and thought, "Cool Dad to take his 5 year old to see Saget"

 

I've played metal/heavy music for my kids since they were a few months old, but they're not really down with it. My daughter was grooving to Pedro the Lion the other morning though.

Kvlt Kolvmn // 2019 in Review

A new site I have become kind of obsessed with. Two very good top 20 lists of black metal albums released along with a couple of op-ed pieces on Deathspell Omega and Mgla. Good stuff and I have not heard A LOT of these.
