My dad grew up in Berlin until he was 6 and moved to Iran until 11, and then London where his mother is from. So I had an interest in the city because of him, and sort of randomly started following them, and then a few years back I realised how keenly I was following them, watching most games and so on. I guess it just developed.

Andre Gomes to Barca in the most unnecessary signing of the summer. He was linked heavily with Madrid, glad he didn't come.

He was linked by Marca who admitted to running a campaign to get Madrid to buy him for that much.

Figure I've seen is 35M, which is quite the spread of costs between ours.

 

Yeah, I know it was Marca. They are the worst.

And I've now seen anywhere from 40M to 65M. Not surprised given how secretive Barcelona are with their true transfer fees.

 

Just saw Arda Turan is probably leaving this summer (lol) so I'm honestly not that upset about the signing. All four signings this summer have been 22 year olds. Not bad to set up some understudies, I guess.

 

I just don't think he's good enough to start for Barca. He's gonna be on the bench all season and won't develop, either, so the move doesn't make much sense imo.

 

Schurrle to Dortmund is pretty cool. I wonder if they can do anything big this season, maybe if Bartra comes into his own.

 

Dortmund's attack is now just as good as it was during their recent peak years. Will definitely be good to watch this season

Pretty sure Bartra will start most of Dortmund's games this year, just judging by their squad listing on Wikipedia and the fact they gave him #5.
