Welp, looks like my ol' buddy Depression is throwing a party tonight. I just can't understand why people don't see things that I see as so basic. Every bit of political hope I have just gets dashed on the rocks by people who just seem to not care about anything but their myopic worldview.

I don't know if I can handle the coming year

The stupidest thing about all of this is how the conservatives fucked up their way at multiple points and somehow wind up in a position of even bigger power.

If they never call the 2017 election, they probably are able to negotiate Brexit in 2018 and now come 2020 instead of "Get Brexit Done" then have to deal with a bunch of people still angry over Brexit.

Instead they call the 2017 election, make it harder for them to negotiate Brexit, wind up fucking that up, gotta call another election but whoops now they can still campaign on getting Brexit done + spread lies about labour and they wind up far better off than they would've if there was an election in 2020.

Is it possible that despite all of human history and knowledge being constantly at our fingertips, that on the whole, we're actually getting dumber?

Curious what the actual chances are of the following:

    1) Independent Scotland
    2) Unified Ireland
    3) Independent Wales
    4) London City State

    1) Is probably the only one with any likelihood. Would Boris allow another independence referendum? SNP seats just cut into his majority of they vote with Labour. But being the PM that allows Scotland to go is not a good look.

    2) Seems maybe possible if Scotland goes but probably wishful thinking

    3) How did Wales vote? Are there enough remainers that if Scotland and NI go Wales is like "fuck it were out too"?

    4) I know almost certainly isn't happening but one can dream, right?

How much longer is the hearing going to go on tonight? I am wondering when the vote is going to happen.
