Those are 6 other really good songs. Battle Born is probably my 5th favorite song on its titular album. Still a good song but wouldn't be where I suggest starting for The Killers at all. If I'd recommend a Battle Born song it would be Runaways or The Way It Was which are two top 5 Killers songs for me

 

idk if Bleed American or Futures should be the opener, but Chase This Light into Invented would be such a great closer

It's obviously "Born to Run."

I don't see how, that song is amazing.

It's probably my third or fourth favorite from that record, so maybe not the best place to start I guess. But I do think that album is the best encapsulation of their sound. It's the most Killers-y of all the Killers albums. Hot Fuss, oddly, is the least Killers-y Killers album.

 

This thread got me to go back and listen to Battle Born again and god damn that record is great. Such an underrated part of the bands discography. If the build to the climax of The Way It Was doesn't knock your socks off you don't know good music

 

CTL's title track is also my least favorite on the album

 

Battle Born kills, easily The Killers' best release

 

Read my last post haha. I fucking adore Battle Born. Runaways is the best Thunder Road since Thunder Road

I can't think of another artist that could make what is essentially completely earnest arena rock after the turn of the century without it coming off as tongue in cheek or corny. They're one of a kind.
