If you were starting fresh, would you go with spotify? Even if you had a massive itunes library already?

 

I like Spotify quite a bit more than Apple
music and I have an iPhone. Am concerned about Apple being a dick about the fact that Spotify has to go through them but I prefer it

I only did Apple Music before because I had an iPhone and Spotify was being a bigger data drain than Apple Music which was already built into the iTunes app

But now I don't have one and I'm like yeah gimme Spotify please

My best friend uses Tidal as his primary

 

This, I'm too down the Apple Music hole to switch but I'd go Spotify if I was starting from scratch.

Tbh I would use if I didn’t already use Spotify, I believe I get an account free through my Sprint bill

Catching up on this thread but I recently switched from Spotify to Apple Music, here's why;;;;;;;;;;;


Spotify does not give you any creative control over your own library anymore, which isn't a big deal to some if you're just saving random songs here and there (or not saving songs at all) but for me this was a huge deal breaker for me. What I mean by this is let's say you save an album but dislike a song or two and want to delete them, well you can't, it keeps the entire album on your library no matter what.

Apple Music also allows you to upload your own files to have across all your devices so if you have some rare demos/b-sides that aren't in the AM database you can still get those songs into your library

I will say Spotify has better curated playlists but AM is not far off, and obviously Spotify has a free plan and AM does not

Ultimately neither is a bad choice, it just depends on how much creative control you'd like to have over your own library, and in that case it's AM hands down
