Is it sad that the first Jay album I put on today was The Dynasty?

 

I've never had it all the way through some of his albums. It's like I get halfway and realise I'd just rather listen to the albums I like lol

 

guess i can fly under the radar and say bp3 is a good album

So, I don't wanna sound too negative or anything, but I was just wondering what has been everyone's biggest disappointment in hip hop this year...?

For me, it has to be the JPEGMAFIA album. I loved Veteran, but this felt like it was a little too all over the place. I know it's kind of his thing, but Veteran had a discordant feel that still felt coherent. For me, this years effort lacked that cohesion and suffered because of it.

 

For me it was Dreezy

YG was my biggest disappointment last year. Don't love the new one, but it's definitely better than stay dangerous and expectations were definitely lower after SD lol

 

Right, I don’t have expectations for YG anymore, I’ll just gladly take any classic song I can get form whatever otherwise forgettable album he puts out now. YG is the new Snoop.

This is all true. I feel like most of my disappointments this year were from artists that had already been disappointing for a few releases. The stuff I liked was mostly new, at least to me (Rod Wave, Polo G, DaBaby), or from people who haven't let down yet (Earl, Greedo)

He's playing here tonight and there are tickets on StubHub for like $14. I never really payed him much attention outside of the singles, but those are all bangers, so I'm guessing it would be a fun show.

 

I think my biggest disappointment is not having any hip hop album I love this year, just for what I like, it was a dry year
