Might be too specific but would it be in the grass or outside the grass?

 

It would be through the ! encounter in the grass. It won’t appear in the overworld like some Pokémon do.

 

Does it always hail in battle when it’s snowing in the wild area? Trying to catch a Pokémon that only appears when it’s snowing but it always says snow on the map but then hail during battle.

Ok, I just must be having extremely bad luck. Says the drop rate for the one I’m trying to catch is 15% but it’s been really long time and I haven’t seen a single one.

 

Yeah, probably. Some times it’s on your side, others it’s not. I know like I think I encounter an Applin after like one try even though it had the lowest encounter rate in the specific area. Which one are you trying to catch?

 

Honedge. Apparently it’s a 15% non-overworld encounter rate in Hammerlocke Hills while it’s snowing. All I’m getting are Swinubs and Inkays

 

It may not show up for you but I’ve gotten a Doubledge to spawn outside of the grass if you go toward the Lake of Outrage. I’ve never seen a Honedge though. It’s right before the Giant’s Cap area, it’s there like 90% of the time.

 

I won’t be able to catch it yet most likely lol I only have three badges

that’s ok! I can just wait until I can catch the doubledge, I just wanted one and wasn’t sure if I was messing something up by having hail in the battles or not. I’m just going to move on with the game and come back later.

are ultra balls the best for catching pokemon in raids?

 

Hasn't been enough research done yet to know for sure what breaks chains, whether leaving an area or even running into/fleeing another mon will trigger it. My best guess would be that shutting off the game entirely prolly would break it.

 

Thanks, I think I’ve seen that encountering another Pokémon is fine as long as you run away but I wasn’t sure if shutting off the game affected it.

 

The best are probably Dusk Balls, or Repeat Balls if it is a Pokémon you already have. Ultras are close as well, and Net Balls if it is Water or Bug.
