Finally doing a rewatch of the series and I'm liking it, but it doesn't seem to be grabbing my attention very well this time around. I feel like a lot of my enjoyment in this show is the mystery and always wanting to know what happens next, so that's kind of gone at this point if that makes any sense?

I feel the opposite. I’ve never rewatched it but so much of my experience watching the show feels like I’m playing catch-up, I think it’d be interesting watching the show knowing where it’s going for once

Just got through the last three. I’m just not as into it for some reason. The talk with Krista was intense though.

Holy fuuuck that was unexpected, go Deegan.

Dom's such a badass. I was worried she was pulling out the knife just to let herself die so Janice couldn't hold her family over her head, so glad that she got her revenge there.

I literally shouted "FUCK YEAH" out loud at that scene, that was soooo fucking dope

I really loved the ending with Mr Robot too, Christian Slater is such an underrated actor, he was amazing there

This might be one of the best seasons of a TV show I've ever seen

this was fantastic once again. this season has been something else.

someone on the subreddit called back to the dream sequence back in season one when we see young Darlene ask Elliot "What's your monster?" and then there's also a handing off of a key. some of these plot points going full circle have been unreal.
additionally, I'm not sure if any of you read the AV club reviews, but this week had a stray observation that I really disagreed with: McLevy points out that it's strange for Elliot to speak out loud to Mr. Robot in the flashback to 1995, and he felt that it was just used to emphasize that Robot existed back then and that it was lily-gilding for the audience. but, I would argue that young Elliott probably hasn't fully grasped what Robot is to him. just like young kids talk aloud to their imaginary friends. not that Robot is an imaginary friend, but I don't see young Elliott realizing that he could have the conversations in his head, and instead feels that he needs to speak aloud in order for Robot to hear him. maybe I'm thinking too much about it all.

I wasn’t expecting the episode to end there, that episode was 10-15 minutes shorter than the rest of this season.

I’m really curious how Elliot is gona pull this together.

Dom was a bad ass and I hope she survives. With Janice gone, I hope Irving comes back

Also the key looking like the E-Corp logo was pretty cool

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I've been telling you all Dom is the best character on this show, and there you fucking go. goddamn

I'd be shocked if Dom didn't survive, I feel like she's gonna play a crucial part in taking the Dark Army down now

Plus they could have just had her die right there instead of managing to call for assistance if they were gonna kill her off

  12. That Dom moments was so good. The antagonists have been great this season. Vera and Janice are so strange and compelling, and a lot of that can be attributed to the performances. Also love that the show took its time to show Elliot wrestle and try to deal with his trauma rather than quickly moving onto the next plot development.

I'm really curious how these last 6 episodes are gona go. Two of the three "main villains" of the season are dead.

  14. Also glad they let the trauma settle because they certainly didn’t allow any time for him to heal up from being hit by a car and jumping off of a cliff /nitpicks

  15. Great episode this week though. Significantly less tense that the three episodes prior and I’m thankful for that. Go Deegan, what a wild card he ended up being. Dom got pretty lucky at the guard randomly stepping forward, a badass result nonetheless

mate the Dom/Darlene/DA scenes were tense as fuck.

But I do agree it's funny that Elliot was demolished by a van hitting him at full speed and he's totally fine. Also, what an insanely shitty 24 hours he's had.

  17. Oh I agree! But the last three were pretty tense in every storyline I felt, whereas this was at least a little more broken up. So happy Janice is gone it’s just too bad she’s gonna haunt my nightmares forever now

And yeah I was about to say, wild that the last 3 episodes have all been in the same 24 hours! What a fucking day

    Was a bit behind...

Just watched S04E05... seriously awesome episode. Caught on about 10 min in that likely nothing else would be said. It's like The Fly but way better. Completely forgot who the lady was at the end and didn't realize it until the next EP's preview.

E06... Tod's Coffee shop was the opening series scene coffee shop, right? Also, nice nod to the Executive Producer, Tod Campbell, who's name came up right when I thought about googling that and of course the logo is a silhouette of him. That Oxy scene was cray-zay. Did he really do it? Not a fan of him in this episode.

Do you guys think Janice was supposed to be Irving but they couldn't get Bobby Cannavale back? I've seen a few people on Reddit saying this. I guess it could work with some rewrites (particularly because Dom obviously already knew who Irving is so they wouldn't have the surprise element on her), but I like them being different characters more

I just watched last night and Dom being stabbed was one of the more uncomfortable scenes in television I've ever seen. Honestly haven't gotten that queasy/uncomfortable since the suicide scene in 13 Reasons Why. Not sure why, but between them constantly focusing on it and Janice describing exactly what was happening, I thought I was going to faint. Getting worked up thinking about it.

Also, really loved Janice as a villain. She was wickedly evil but had some charm to her. Not in a good way, but like a sneaky charm. I enjoyed all her scenes.

Irving’s contract with the Dark Army ended with in the finale last season, I’m that Janice was always meant to be her own character.

this. almost positive that Irving ends last season saying that he's going to go on vacation and work on his novel for a while, right?

I liked Janice but she was just as cartoonishly evil as Irving if not more so

Irving always felt threatening but I was never actually afraid of him until he maniacally whacked Santiago in the chest with that axe about 400 times. Janice was terrifying from the jump, her eyes go from comforting to sinister in a disturbingly quick second
