I'm not sure but I remember the building looked way fancier than ours and their uniforms were badass. I was thinking of Country Buffet, Inc instead of Hometown Buffet. They bought out and shut down a lot of Ryan's.

 

There are two old country buffets an hour from me (everything is an hour lol). I used to beg my parents to take us there whenever we went to that town. I've wanted to try it as an adult but just assume it'll be gross lol.

Also my grandma still loves Sizzler and tbh so do I!

I just googled it and Sizzlers is like 15 minutes away. I think I might have to take a trip to it soon. I haven't been there in ages.

 

They closed all the ones near me but I just moved to Connecticut and found out there was one about 20 minutes from my apartment. I too have not had it in over 10 years. You are right that it's probably gross but may be salvaged by nostalgia. I will eat there and report back.

I have not seen a Sizzler since my youth.

 

It looks like any Sizzlers east of New Mexico went out of business.

When I lived in Albany, OR there was one. There's one close by my grandma's too in CA cause we eat there every time we visit her lol. The one in my town shut down long ago tho

 

Here we have Golden Corral, then there's Luby's which I've never been to.

There's also Furr's but I think that was more cafeteria style and not an all you can eat. I haven't been since I was a kid.

 

Luby's and Furr's are terrible names for... anything.

Growing up we used to eat a lot at a local chain called Tia's Tex-Mex. I hadn't been to one or even seen one in maybe a decade, so I decided to look them up and apparently they are down to one location, in Tampa Bay FL of all places

I haven't seen a Golden Corral here despite us getting the ads which is strange.

I've never even heard of Luby's or Furrs but those are hilarious names.

 

Luby's is good!

 

Golden Corral is one of the very worst chains out there, right there with Bob Evans and Captain D's.

 

Gotta add Cracker Barrel to that list.

Which reminds me of one of the best reasons to go to Cracker Barrel (and there are many) : they have Modjeskas.

 

The Chinese food place is closed once a week and I can't remember if it's Tuesdays or Wednesdays. If I call later and they're closed I'm gonna be super upset. Just be open everyday!!!
