Aside from a couple (ones that I consider) stinkers, this is a great year for Oscar season movies.

 

there are definitely some stinkers, for sure. and a few that will probably win some of the big awards. but as a whole, it seems like a much better class of award movies

 

For sure. Like, I wasn’t a big fan of Jojo Rabbit, but comparing it to Green Book or BoRap is ridiculous.

 

The only thing that will set me off is if Todd Phillips gets a best director nomination.

 

I’ll be livid if Parasite doesn’t get a best picture nom

 

Joker is a bad movie but i wouldn’t be pissed at Phillips getting a nod. it isn’t like BoRap getting a nom for editing. he’s displaying actual craft even if he sucks ass and the movie is bullshit lol

I would argue that he is the one person NOT showing any craft. Give that credit to his production designer, cinematographer, etc. although honestly if anyone won an Oscar for Joker it should be Scorsese lol.

 

Doubt it, Noah Greta Marty and Bong seem very likely, maybe Tarantino, strong year for directors at least

 

That lineup would be too much. I don’t have faith in them not screwing it up but it would be so great to see.

 

Well it’s sounding like mendes might be in the mix as well.

 

I’d throw Heller in as well

I think this will be the lineup as well, except Baumbach instead of Taika.

But of course only one woman can be nominated cause reasons (basically replace one of the women with Mendes who it sounds like is deserving)

 

Anyways, back on topic, I finally saw this and it was everything I wanted. I can't wait to rewatch it on Friday from my couch.

 

I am probably seeing this again tonight before it leaves theaters. Apparently Silvio is in the movie and I missed it.

My mom and I were cracking up and I don’t think anyone else in the theater recognized him. Perfect place for a cameo.

 

I was wondering if that was him, haha.

 

Last half hour or so is mad depressing. Like I was legit in a funk at dinner with my friends after the movie.
