It's like Leonardo DaVinchi getting fucking drop kicked after making the Mona Lisa

I feel like Static Prevails is weirder than Clarity is sonically. But I'm biased

I wouldn't say it's weirder, but I can get that. SP is way more niche than clarity is IMO

Static Prevails is the one release that hasn't clicked with me yet from this band. That album is the true outlier in their discography.

Yeah, it's actually helped me figure out why I sensed such a large gap between Clarity and subsequent albums, haha.

I haven't gotten into Static either, but I've only given it a couple listens. I have this weird thing with debut albums where I don't give them enough of a chance

I think SP is their album where, if you're a fan of 90s emo music, you'll be all about SP

I framed it like I do The Menzingers albums and that worked for me. Just a solid punk/emo rock album

Sp reminds me a lot of the power of failing - just a raw as hell emo album that was followed up with a calmer, denser, better take on a similar sound afterward

Yeah Zac and I are big 90s emo fans so it makes sense that we like it a lot.

I need to listen to more emo music from the 90s. Or just more emo music in general haha.

Heh, there are few musical categorizations that are less "my thing" than 90's emo.
