You don’t HAVE to purchase a subscription for Stadia. The subscription just ups the stream from 1080p to 4K. Also, you get some “free” games included, a la Games With Gold / PlayStation Plus.

Yeah, I know, and that’s what I often do, but the mechanic just doesn’t make sense for the Star Wars universe. It’s weird and takes me out of the world when it happens.

I get it though, the video game industry is not one to linger in if it’s not taking off. I’ll give them credit for trying but I feel the odds are against them. I know Apple toyed with the idea briefly but in the end probably realized they would be better off not opening up that can of worms.

Also, the controller looks like they literally melted an Xbox and PlayStation controller together and said: “perfect!”

 

if you care for a little inside baseball, this game's design was not meant for a Star Wars game, the Star Wars stuff was retrofitted onto the initial design once EA greenlit this package.

 

Stadia is gonna be a big flop. Watch for XCloud to make big waves next gen.
