Decided to get Fallen Order last minute in addition to Pokemon

I genuinely haven’t seen a single trailer for it but all I ever heard here was how wank it’d be haha

 

Considering picking it up, but I also have Pokémon and most of Death Stranding.

 

I’m 14 hours into death stranding and I’m only at the weather station

 

well to be fair every time they showed it it looked like absolute dogshit. I'm shocked how much I like it.

it's sitting at 91 MC as of this post, which if I'm not mistaken is the highest MC of any game this year. Personally to me it's more of an 8.5 but I meant that.

 

I just want a good Star Wars game

 

I for one am shocked that the studio who has only made great games managed to make a really good game.

1. Bioshock 2's gameplay is better and because of that, the game is better. That's how games work.

2. Bioshock 2's story is far better than the original anyway. The original Bioshock's story is overrated and completely falls apart after the twist. Bioshock 2's story is more emotionally driven and reacts to the player's choices organically in a way the original Bioshock doesn't.

That's the tea, brother. Bioshock 2 has been the best Bioshock this entire time.

 

Erm excuse me nostalgia dictates that the OG is the best. But I’ll concede the gameplay was better in 2 what with the dual-wielding guns/drill and plasmids

 

Nothing will beat that intro section in 1 for me hot damn

 

Nostalgia just blinds people from the truth.

 

I (BioShock) infinitely preferred the atmosphere of the first and think it had more memorable moments than in the second. For example - the introduction to Rapture and Dr Steinman. Not forgetting Cohen’s artsy mall and all that crazy shit. Both are fucking excellent games. 2 is undoubtedly better from a gameplay perspective but 1 is far more memorable to me.

2 had some glorious sections too though. Urgh I gotta bring that HD collection back to Japan when I go home for Xmas I neeeed to play them again

 

First one has the better story, second has better gameplay.

 

Never said Bioshock didn't have memorable moments. It's simply not better than the sequel.

- The hacking minigame in Bioshock is complete trash and is the number one reason why I don't replay it. Lol.

- The twist is overrated because in order for it to work, the player has to be tricked into thinking they have a choice. The problem is, giving the player a choice doesn't make sense for the antagonist. There's a fundamental issue at the center of Bioshock's story that can't be resolved. Levine compromised his story's logic just so he could be clever. The twist is inorganic because of this. And unfortunately, it's one of those twists that ruin the entire story.

- Bioshock 2 has better level design, which isn't surprising. The creative director of Bioshock 2 is the same guy who designed the best level of Bioshock, Fort Frolic. Ya know, Cohen's level.

Bioshock has a few memorable moments that stand out but as an overall experience, it falls flat. Everything about Bioshock 2 is better. Its gameplay is better. Its level design is better. The hacking minigame is fixed. It's more emotionally driven. The choices aren't binary or simple. The story doesn't fall apart. People love the first game because it's the first game. It was unique at the time, so plenty of people view it through nostalgic lenses. But there is legitimately not a single thing Bioshock does better than its sequel.

 

I really loved Bioshock 2 but the first one is easily my favorite.

2 is probably the ‘better’ game though.

And saying there’s not a single thing that BioShock does better than its sequel is wholly subjective. I prefer it and felt it was a more memorable experience overall, regardless of what you listed. It isn’t simply because of nostalgia, which was a joke, I just genuinely enjoyed it more. Gameplay is absolutely improved, but the original had something for me personally that the second was slightly lacking. Or maybe it was just a ‘more of a the same’ kinda deal. Is what it is lol.
