Apparently, there was almost a live action Palpatine origin story tv show: Cancelled Star Wars TV Show Told Emperor Palpatine's Origin Story

 

Finished up Clone Wars today and absolutely loved it. I think Ahsoka was my favorite character throughout it. Bummed it was cancelled in season 6. Definitely felt like they could have covered a lot more.

 

Watch Rebels now! I don't want to give anything away but I know you'll like it.

 

Oh I had already watched that haha! Did things out of order. I went to high school with Taylor Gray so that's why I ended up watching that first.

 

Oh wow that's pretty crazy! It's funny listening to Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sam Witwer talking about telling Taylor about the Force. It's like the whole Kanan / Maul relationship in real life.

Halfway through Life Debt. Enjoying it a good bit so far. Much better than the first part of the Aftermath trilogy. Or maybe it's just that I am already familiar with the core group now from the last book and am not constantly going , "where the fuck are Han/Luke/Leia?!?!?"

Not that that question isn't valid, but it's not really the story being told. The last book was kind of vaguley set up that way and it just was not it at all.

Knowing this well before hand for this book helped me come in to it with very different expectations.

 

i'm 1/3 a way through Life Debt and i'm really enjoying it. Like that it's unfolding kind of slowly and giving us more of this new crew.
Aftermath works MUCH MUCH MUCH better if you read it again. I know for most people that's not something they want to do because they didn't enjoy it much in the first place. But the biggest reason is because of the expectations of what they thought it was going to be. The writing style IMO is a minor thing. It's the same style in Life Debt and you hardly notice it.
I hear there's a decent reveal in this book so i'm excited to hear what that is.

 

Yea, the marketing for the first one really set it up to fail. It simply doesn't really address the characters we care the most about and didn't really set much up for TFA minus Snaps. That's like the two things it was set up as and that's just not the book that was written.

I will re read it one day. The style doesn't bother me at all.

 

Finished Life Debt. I liked it a lot, but there are some incredibly similar plot points to an EU series.

No real reveals, but it does set something up that will be answered in the third book.

 

Rebels season three trailer. Based on some of the previous conversations had in this thread, I have a feeling this is going to make some of you very excited.

 

That was simply fantastic.

 

He looks and talks exactly how he did in the book. I am so excited to see where all this goes.

if you're not up on rebels so far, you're in for some good shit. the season 2 finale is some of the best star wars stuff out there.

 

The rebels panel at Star Wars Celebration was fantastic. I'd love to see Dave Filoni get a feature film one day.

 

Thrawn reveal was amazing. It's crazy that Rebels won Celebration.
