I’ll probably cancel the promo one in Jan when it ends and then sign up for Disney + with a separate email I guess

 

I don't have to work tomorrow, so I'm thinking I'll wake up at 4:55a to watch right when this drops.

 

If every episode doesn't start with an opening crawl I'm cancelling my subscription.

 

That's what I've been wondering too. I think they'll attempt to stick to the "no crawls outside the saga" thing they've been doing. But will the long time ago title card open each episode?

 

I'm just joking, there's no way they do an opening crawl in every episode

 

Regarding Dash Rendar, I would love it if he ever appeared in a show/book/movie.

 

I think one of the things I'm most excited about is all of the easter eggs and hints toward the wider galaxy. Even just seeing some battle droids in the trailer had me hyped.

 

I could see the first episode starting with an opening crawl, but not every episode.

 

I would love for the stage to really be set, a la Solo.

I definitely wouldn't hate it if they say screw and go back to a legit crawl, especially if they're done with saga films a while.

 

If this is really a Boba Fett show, which is unfortunately seeming more and more likely, they're probably going to feel like they have to do at least some stage-setting for the hypothetical person who is watching this show and has never seen the OT.

 

I really don't think that's gonna be the case.

 

Saw somewhere that screeners of the first episode were held back due to Disney wanting to prevent a major spoiler in it from getting out. If that's true, can't imagine what else would be that massive of a spoiler that they'd not want pre-air reviews available, considering the positive reactions it's been getting every time any footage of it has been shown.

 

I've read that too, but I don't think that's what they're referring to. It could be Boba related (we may find he survived), but I don't buy that that's our titular character. I still believe that the trailer shot with the Commando droid was flashback to Clone Wars and the young boy we saw was the Mandalorian with his parents. All the bits of dialogue we've heard don't seem to jive with him being Boba. Spoiler tagging all this cuz context lol.

there is a theory that the Mandalorian is the son of Obiwan and Satine. Satine his him from Obiwan since it would have gotten him in trouble with the council. While maybe not a full Jedi, he could be force sensitive and untrained. Would explain how great of a fighter he is.

With Filoni involved, the Obiwan series coming next year, it’s entirely possible. I hope it isn’t it since I read the theory. But I would be pretty amped to see that storyline pay off in this way. Having both Anakin and Obiwan father children would be interesting to look at in retrospect.

 

I wanna read this so bad, but I'm gonna exhibit self control.

 

At this point, if the huge reveal is in the first episode, come back and read it haha

it’s just a theory/ rumor. Personally I don’t think it will be true because it would assume everyone watching will have seen certain things, and I don’t see them starting the first live action show that way

i don’t think the mandalorian is related to that but it also wouldn’t come as a surprise at all considering Boba is the first mandalorian that comes to mind for most people and the suits are incredibly similar haha. kinda seems expected.

 

Disney+ launches at midnight correct?
