I think the midfielders and attackers played fine but the back line was so bad. Mainly Dier. It’s starting to become obvious Toby and Jan are both gone after this year. We really need to buy 3 players at the least for the back line. They could pass the ball past the press at all today. It held the rest of the team back.

Over the last two seasons, Messi has scored eleven more free kicks than the next team on the list. Incredible how much better he’s gotten at them.

 

I spent the first 7 years of my life living in the GDR. It's kinda weird to think about how my life would look like if there had been no re-unification of Germany.

With the 30 year anniversary these last few days made me really think about all that happened. It's great that history can take such massive turns pretty much out of nowhere and change the lives of so many people.

 

Oh wow, yeah I'm sure that all the events recently commemorating that day have brought back a lot of thoughts and feelings, regarding the meaning of it all and all that. As an American who grew up in the middle of the U.S., I don't know all that much regarding all the events leading up to that day and after, but I do know how truly significant it was, not only for the locals but for the rest of the world. All I remember thinking when I first learned about the wall was "Couldn't they just go around the wall? Like, leave the city, go around, then go into the other part of the city", hahaha. Not quite that simple...

 

I'm starting to wonder if someone higher up at the Premier League is trying to get VAR scuppered. The usage of it is just appalling. The offside against Sheffield United was an absolute joke. Similarly Burnley.

There was also yet another penalty appeal involved, this time of the type that we saw given over and over at the world cup last year. It's hard to believe now that it's accidentally being utilised so inanely.
