Music, Gaming, Movies and Guys = Life

Watched Summer of 84 on Monday which was fine but apart from a grim and sombre ending there wasn't all that much surprising about it.

Yesterday I saw Housebound which was one of two films I watched which was funny and entertaining but the horror side of it was predictable and quite routine.

The second film I watched was another horror anthology from Amicus Productions called Dr. Terror’s House of Horrors starring both Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee, with minor roles from Bernard Lee and Donald Sutherland which was overall great. Only one of the five stories I didn't care for with the rest being engrossing and entertaining along with the framework to tell the stories.

Gas there been any update on Trick R Treat 2?

    "I'll chew on a dog!"

Also available in most podcast places. We typically do 1:1 movie/beer pairing, but since there’s 5 stories in Trick R Treat we did 5 beers while recording.

I watched all of the Halloween films with one of my sisters a few months ago. She'd never watched any of them before.

She's dressed as Michael for her Halloween party tonight and has hamsters called Michael and Myers

    Think she liked them

Music, Gaming, Movies and Guys = Life

Kind of what on a mad one yesterday and watched four films.

The first of which was The Incredible Shrinking Man which is the fourth film I have seen directed by Jack Arnold and it is his best which isn't just because of the incredible effects but also thanks to our lead character having genuine depth as his ordeal brings about psychological as well as physical effects that can be easily seen as a metaphor for real-life diseases.

The second film was Race with the Devil starring Peter Fonda and Warren Oates which is one those weird clash of genres that really shouldn't work as it mixes satanic horror with car chases and action but apart from the jarring ending it does work and has some amazing action.

The third film was An American Werewolf in London which looks great in the newly restored Blu-ray and even after numerous rewatches it still manages to entertain, produce laughs and impress with its sensational effects. I also love the Picadilly Circus scene where everything goes manic, which is one reason I love Lifeforce so much as that is the only other film I have seen that evokes that same sense of chaos.

The fourth and final film I watched was the original Fright Night which I have owned for a while now but I am glad I got around to watching it again as it is glorious with its great effects, superb score/soundtrack, good casting and it is even funny. My only real issue with this is that despite me liking Roddy McDowall who is good in this I would have preferred someone who is more well known in the horror genre like Vincent Price or Christopher Lee but I guess their age or the budget might have prevented that happening.

Probably one of my best days this year in terms of film watching, even though the first film was the only one I haven't seen. Going to try and squeeze one more film in today before Ghostbusters tonight at the cinema for its 35th Anniversary.

so the first three Psycho's were on hbo for a bit and I went to watch them all one day but they were gone, anyone here seen them? like them? I've only seen the original, never watched the remake as no one seems to think it's worth viewing haha

I watched Eli last week and I was entertained. Also, add me to the list of people who have just watched Scream for the first time. I loved it!
