Would you mind expanding on this? Is loudness war critique not actually valid? That would blow my mind, I've referenced it in casual music conversations for over a decade!

Also re: filibuster talk....been thinking about this.....do they actually need to vote to take it away?

Since it isn't in the Constitution, isn't it just a rule change that the senate majority leader could enact? (Schumer won't)

Not here. Well, not Michigan, at least (liquor laws vary state to state in America). We definitely have materials to gives to bars/servers/etc to help inform customers but that's about it.
For sure. We definitely control all of that in our taproom. But in our taproom, the product is still ours. Out in the world, sure it'd be great if they drank it at the right temp in the right glass with the right food, but that's just not plausible to regulate. Drinking beer out of a can is obscene IMO, but if someone was drinking ours out of a can then :shrug::shrug: at least they are giving it an opportunity. And if they complain about it we can let them know how to better improve their experience by teaching them drinking out of a can or watching a movie at 1.5x speed isn't the ideal way to consume that product. We agree in theory, just differ on the end. I just want people to enjoy it. The best art is whatever art you like and the best way to consume it is however you want to consume it, imo.
100%. I've very much enjoyed the discussion and seeing how people feel about art and whatnot. Very good discussion.
    Hell yes.

Be kind; everyone is on their own journey.

When i lay down to go to bed, and have an hour until i need to go to sleep, instead of getting just 1 60 min. episode in, if i can do that in addition to a 30 min episode watched within that hour i'm willing to try. If able to still pay attention and get all i need to out of the show, it's a benefit. Some shows it wouldn't work, but something like Westworld could use some speeding up at times without taking away from the actual quality...

The best way to watch Westworld is with an entirely different show playing instead.

So much slowness, stillness, and quiet in movies and tv is intentional and the urge to skip that or get through it quicker is so, so wrongheaded

I think to speak in such absolutes about a subjective thing like art is wrongheaded and obtuse, imo. It insinuates that people who choose to consume media differently are less than people who choose to consume media “correctly.”

David Lynch probably has an opinion about people who watch his films at 1.5x speed. I agree with him.
