Hour of penance slaps

 

I'm surprised no one else is excited about this. This post made me go back and do some Googling because I knew I had seen them live way back when but couldn't remember exactly. It was 2006 and the bill was God Forbid, Ill Nino, Silent Civilian and Bleed The Sky. Wouldn't mind seeing that same lineup now, tbh.

 

Just saw Windhand in Boston last night. Killer set.

 

Maybe you could ask Doc Coyle to leave Bad Wolves and get God Forbid back together first?

 

but how would he ever get that arena black metal money that five finger death punch is promising him with their tour at the end of the year?

god, bad wolves might be the most unnecessary band on earth. the good news is, when your most successful track is a cover of a classic song from outside your genre, your career is pretty much doomed and everyone will always just know you as "that band who covered that song".

 

On a musical note, Bad Wolves are boring and generic as fuck. On an album artwork note, good God that new album artwork is tacky as hell.

I don't really listen to them or the genre, but I fell asleep to it last night and man it was hypnotic

 

Yeah, it’s not “Metal” per se but definitely adjacent. If you read interviews with them they said this is their darkest album in their mind and they created their own language so you don’t really have to know the lyrics and just absorb the music.

according to MA they played raw black metal early on? before moving into the shoegaze stuff. I guess the main guy has been in a ton of bands, including Peste Noir

 

Yeah, very talented band even though there are only two guys in the band now days. But the primary song writer has a great resume. They are essentially known as the originators of the black gaze movement but their older albums are definitely more black metal than shoe gaze.
