Damn What Lies Beneath got me down a rabbit hole thinking about mid 2000's horror again.

Anybody remember Stay Alive or Dead Silence???

Stay Alive had Frankie Muniz and wasn't very good but I remember enjoying it.

Dead Silence I think was by James Wan and Leigh Whanell and I remember loving it and being creeped tf out.

Watched One Cut of the Dead last night and unfortunately, it was another case of a lot of people highly praising a film which sent my expectations soaring and then ultimately the film not delivering on them which isn't to say there was nothing I liked about it but I just felt indifferent to it by the end.

I think it's probably the best horror comedy since Shaun of the Dead. So fun.

couldn’t sleep at all so i decided to watch Haunt not knowing anything about it.

so now im wide awake. im trying to figure out why im terrified of this movie, because most slasher films i have fun with. my wife who is scared of everything didn’t think it was scary at all (but she did have a lot of fun)

Watched half of it but what I saw definitely got my anxiety churning — will finish later today hopefully.

It makes for such a disheartening viewing experience especially since it makes me feel like there is something wrong with me when I'm not enjoying something to the extent that the vast majority of people are.

love horror comics. of the ones you've mentioned I've only read Wytches and Swamp Thing but love them both. Severed is another good one from Scott Snyder as well as American Vampire. Hellblazer, Sandman, Locke and Key

The Lighthouse was all the bonkers insanity I wanted. Able to be funny and then flip the switch to be horrifying haha. so much to think about after watching. wish I could see this in 35mm with the flicker, feel like that would just add so much.
