I think a lot of fans are giving them way too much credit for being intentionally bad this season.

I'm mostly just disappointed it's not a traditional slasher. Which is silly to expect because this is AHS lol

so im finally starting to watch this ish. Binged season 1 a few weeks back, finished season 2 a few days ago, and now half way done with season 3.

Are you guys in the camp that agrees season 1 and 2 are good, the rest not so much? I loved season 2.

I thought Coven and Roanoke were on the same level, but agree on the rest

Asylum is the best for sure. I loved one to five in their own way, either as they aired or after rewatching and reevaluating. Coven especially was one that coming right after Asylum and being SO different in tone made me kind of hate it, but on its own merits I love now for the characters and the camp.

I absolutely hated Roanoke and Cult, and while on an intellectual level I know that Apocalypse totally fell apart, I still love it for the same reasons as Coven (and because of some truly creepy episodes and visuals early on.)

So far this season is on the low end of the spectrum for me. It’s just super meh and forgettable, which is definitely not the norm. Every other season has provoked SOME kind of strong reaction from me, but this one is just sort of.... there.

I think this season and Apocalypse were complete messes, but I'm having a lot more fun with this season because of how fucking ridiculous it's been.

In terms of enjoyment, I like it more than Freakshow and Apocalypse, even if it's garbage

Roanoke is the only full season I watched and I liked it

I'm curious why a lot of people dislike Roanoke so much. Only thing I can think of is that they're more in this show for the campiness than actual horror?

I feel like it's the opposite.. I think the first half of the season being a tv show kind of killed the horror for a lot of people. It doesn't get much campier than having a tv show within a tv show and having those actors interact with their "real" counterparts.

I liked it though, it reminds me of this season because I enjoy how they're both pretty focused, fun, and not trying to do too much. They're not the seasons I'm going to remember most in 20 years, but they're good breathers between the more ambitious seasons. And it's definitely one of the scary seasons, at least in the 2nd half.

I just personally can't think of a scarier season aside from Asylum, but I get how the documentary format could have hurt it for some people

I do agree on a personal level. It was probably the scariest one for me, at least since the first 2 seasons.

Yeah, I know we’ve been over it before, but for me it was a combination of the format completely spoiling any tension or horror for me and the characters being intensely unlikeable. I just hated every single aspect of it except for Cricket (who was fictional) and Kathy’s performance. I was happy when they dropped the awful documentary angle, but then they ruined the tension of THAT immediately by spelling out exactly what would happen over the rest of the season. And the acting was generally way worse than other years, even poor Sarah had that tragic accent.

1 and 2 are the only decent ones I've seen. I tried all of the others, but never made it past 4-5 episodes.

I've gotten varying degrees of enjoyment out of each season, I just wish they could figure out how to give a satisfying ending.

I don’t know if I’ve ever come so close to turning off an episode as I am four minutes into this one. Maybe in Cult? Either way things better change fast.

EDIT: Ok great now let’s be done with that forever and ever.

Yeah I haven't really dug any of the endings. Especially season 1. Both seasons petered at the end. But overall I've liked all first 3 seasons as a whole...

They get the award for "most fucked up shit" I've seen in a horror movie award

Lol at Trevor not dying and deciding to live with Margaret as his sugar momma truly a move that I respect.

Also curious how Donna got out of the camp, did she sell her soul too?

Anyway rooting for Mr Jingles’ chance at domestic blitz is the twist I truly didn’t see coming

It felt like she was playing an entirely different character and Margaret is just gone. Seeing Leslie Jordan in that horrific wig was the highlight for me. And rooting for Jingles didn’t surprise me since he plays that kind of misunderstood, heartbreaking villain so well. I just don’t understand what the season is even about now, and if I have to hear one more Ramirez monologue I’m going to lose it.

I think the shows about Camp Redwood and is leading to the final showdown there.

Nine. It was dropped from ten, and I’m not sure how they’ll even fill those three episodes.

That makes me feel like they weren't very confident about this season
