  7. Just watched Scream for the first time. I generally don't like slashers, so I didn't like this as much as I'd hoped, but I can appreciate how special it is, especially for its time.

Loved the ending, as well. Really pulled the whole thing together for me, super unsettling.

So I realized that I too have not watched much (any) Vincent Price. Not even og House on Haunted Hill, and the remake is one of my favorite movies ever!

House of Wax '53 was fantastic. Halfway through HoHH '59 right now and loving it

Growing up, I loved watching the Twilight Zone, especially the horror episodes with a dramatic twist at the end. When I first got into reading horror fiction, I found H.P. Lovecraft's work to be terrifying, thrilling, and enthralling. Now, I'm trying to make it as a professional author and I wrote a collection of short, existential horror stories inspired by the Twilight Zone and H.P. Lovecraft. It's called, "Burn: Stories."

If you want to check it out, I'm giving it away for free on my website in exchange for an email address which I'll use to send you more short horror stories every month.

Reposting this to the correct thread because I had accidentally posted it to the Midsommar thread, but:

Going to watch the Evil Dead remake again tonight. I love every aspect of that film. I still remember watching it for the first time and horrified I was - and this was after I had seen the original and knew what was coming.

Seeing The Lighthouse tonight at Alamo at 10! I am so excited. It's supposed to storm here so it'll be the perfect setting for the film.

Finished Creep 2. Didn’t like it quite as much as the first film, but still had a decent amount of fun with it.

Rewatched Afflicted, a little indie found footage film about two Canadian dudes who travel abroad to Europe when things go awry. Probably best to go into it without knowing anything else. Saw it on Netflix a few years ago; it's not there anymore, but it is on Prime. I bought it on DVD when I spotted it at a Big Lots haha

One of the reasons why I like this film is that the writer/director/main character is Asian-Canadian. But really, it's just so fascinating how good this is with such a low budget compared to things like Chronicle and Cloverfield. RIYL the [REC] series, I guess? but much less claustrophobic. I haven't seen Blair Witch Project.

More suspense but What Lies Beneath will always be a fave. Used to love it as a kid and it's still good now

Any fans of horror comics in here? Wytches, Outcast, Alien: Dead Orbit, Infidel, Swamp Thing, Rachel Rising, Redlands, and Harrow County are some of my faves.

Me too and tbh rewatching some parts were funny like when she is possessed by the girl or whatever is happening and she's seducing Richard gere lmao but some parts are def still effective like when she's using the shard of glass from the mirror to see what's around her
