Trump could literally say it was a quid pro quo, that he wanted Ukraine to declare Biden a criminal and that he was personally depositing a billion dollars into his businesses because the ungrateful Americans owe him.

Nothing will change, it’s a fandom not a logically thinking group. McConnell won’t impeach and will weasle his way out of it. Still have to press on these crimes constantly and bring out a candidate that actually appeals to people.

Busy day today - were there any announcements from Pelosi today on the impeachment inquiry? I thought I remembered last week hearing there would be an announcement of some kind today

 

Although I don't share much with Trump, I think he's a good president in economic matters.

 

I mean, he pretty much has done nothing on economic policy except for start a trade war that has mostly hurt farmers and driven prices up for everyone but okay

 

But if we can see the economic indicators of the US, they have grown. The stock markets continue to rise, not to say with the rise of the dollar globally. Of course in other points he has walked in the economy.

 

If the GDP and stock market are literally the only things you're looking at/caring out, yeah it's gone up during his three years. But just basing your views on those things alone is a terrible thing to base views on

 

He pretty walked into all of that stuff. The stock market, unemployment numbers, etc...it’s pretty much all been on a steady rise since ~2011. Unfortunately, stock prices don’t really mean much for like 80% of America, and a lot of companies took their tax cuts and artificially raised their stock prices with stock buybacks.

The economy is going great, that's why corporations and Wall Street are freaking out about a recession and the fed is gonna cut interest rates for the third time this year. Also explains why people can't afford basic necessities like healthcare and housing and are massively in debt.

 

The tariffs are directly affecting the company I worked for, in a bad way. Latest wave of layoffs was two weeks ago. And I have yet to receive a reduction in my federal deductions in my paycheck since his tax breaks.

 

I can't wait till the conservatives eek a close win next cycle and keep this for another 20 years

It’s one thing to say the economy is doing well, or crooning along (I’d argue there are warning signs) and another to give Trump credit for any of it. One is valid reasoning, the other is not. So I reject the premise that he’s a good economic President and even argue he’s suppressed economic growth we could have had under a basic Dem.
