I just finally watched this.

I thought it was incredible. Much like Logan, I think it’s a major evolutionary moment for comic based films.

One of the things that really sticks with me is the delusional relationship he has with his neighbor. What a crushing notion to see the memories playback with no one really there. Very affecting.

What bothers me is the massive missed opportunity of not using this version of the character for future projects. That build up could be very intriguing. I hope it happens somehow.

 

Todd Phillips’s “Joker” Is No Laughing Matter

 

More of a synopsis than a review. Wonder if the author is trying to dissuade people from having to see the film since he didn’t care for it.

 

They are such different films. Difficult to compare. While I did thoroughly enjoy both of them, I think Joker has a much larger impact/presence.

 

Deadpool is the worst kind of humor.

 

Deadpool 2 is great. I have a certain distaste for the first one though since it turned Wade, who is meant to be a pretty dark character that uses humor as a coping mechanism, into just a 4th wall breaking, meta-joke machine, and that's colored how most people see the character.

 

I don’t like this movie, I just think Deadpool is also bad

 

Kinda funny that my wife Zazie was in both movies.

 

Reminds me of Zoe Saldana being in Endgame and Avatar
