    What were they recording today?

Hey now. Look at you. Way cool.

Exclusive studio session with fans in London. They did an Andrew WK cover and a few of their other tracks from Surviving and Futures. Pressing a limited edition vinyl to go to just the fans who were there.

This album is like a mix of Integrity Blues and Chase This Light to me and it’s wonderful

this really dates me, but my first leaked album was MXPX The Everpassing Moment on Napster. my family had just gotten DSL at 1 mbps and i was in hog-heaven.

but yes, i downloaded the Futures leak as soon as it came out on the internets. the first time I heard Kill floored me.

I'm imagining JEW performing Party Hard now and that's just insane.

Solidarity, my friend. I can remember the very first song I ever downloaded from Napster: “Judith” by A Perfect Circle

Napster was literally all I cared about when my parents got DSL hahaha

At this point "Delivery" is my favorite song on this, followed extremely closely by "555" and then a hair's breadth away every single other song on here.

I can see that changing around all over the place though, because my thoughts on these songs have been all over the place. I was not blown away by "Criminal Energy" the first few times I heard it, but it would get stuck in my head in a major way and it was the one I would always be singing from this, and now I love it.

My favorite lyrics from the album are the line about being in the title fight but only having montage training time.

That's the one they did. Hope the recording makes its way online

“I've always liked the Rick Springfield video for 'Bop 'Till You Drop'. A reptilian overlord managing his minions gets overthrown by his workforce. He's kind of trying to keep them in line, but one guy breaks into song and mass rebellion ensues. From the overlord's perspective, that day was a pretty bad day.

I always thought that was funny. So 555 sees me cast as a galactic evil master, overseeing an army of cloned species doing my bidding - this is the only life they know, joining me in song in this post-apocalyptic dystopia.”

I think “A Title Fight with only montage training time” is the standout lyric on here.

For me the standout lyrics from recent albums Integrity and Invented are:

“Are You Alone like me? Alone but not lonely” - Pol Roger

“I watched you put on a dress I’d never seen, something that begged for east atlantic breeze” - Evidence

I don’t pay attention to lyrics as much as some as I’m usually more focused on production, instrumentation, mix etc but when a lyrics jumps out at me it’s usually cause it’s pretty damn good.

Listened to this 3 times now. This is shaping up to be something I love. Don’t know where to rank it, idk if I care to; but it’s great. Had a great trail run today with this going. Nailed the mood.

555 is my favorite; quick answer. At first I didn’t know what to think about the track, but I came around on it on listen number 2 and 3. Maybe it will catch on some alt radio stations. I’d love to see them get some more exposure to a new audience. So glad I only listed to All The Way and Love Never before release. 555 and Congratulations were such great surprises.

(I feel like 555 could have fit on Integrity Blues somewhere vibe wise)

I personally love the lyrics just before these ones from Pol Roger:

My room tonight has its own name
    The key says Pol Roger
I'd say get on and close the bedpost curtains
    Pretend the ground is fire
I know that'd make you smile

Considering the album theme and content, I really feel like this is an inside look into his heart. There's no metaphor here. We all have those truly intimate moments with our partners and this seems to be one of those for him - it's simple, innocent, and heartbreaking.

    Congratulations, man.

    when Jim sings:

    “There's no charity
Some don't deserve to make it
You'll blame and fight each other
For just a slice of plunder
Too down and tired to wonder
    Whose foot you're crawling under..”

it kicks my ass like tough love and makes me tear up at the almost effortless beauty of the perfection that is Jimmy Eat World that ends the song. The lyrics on this song and pretty much the album make me re-evaluate myself and the stupid decisions that I’ve made.

Some don’t deserve to make it if they’re not willing to put in the effort.. real talk.

I thought the exact same thing, the bridge in Criminal is really a beefed-up version of the bridge in Anais (which was already wonderful to begin with).

  16. I haven't even listened to this yet and probably will in the next day or two, but generally where are people ranking this in the overall JEW discography? Is it mid-tier?

Definitely too early to tell but I can say IB remains my favorite album. It’s good enough that I would totally understand people ranking it #1

I mean nearly everything that leaves this mans pen is gold. I can’t keep up with all the great shit he says lol. Sometimes I forget I’m listening to a song and just trying to pick up every syllable lol
