Yeah it’s real bad. It’s wasteful and in particular textiles use up so many respurces and fossil fuels to make. And to boot, the working conditions for employees is very sad and grim and they’re lucky if they walk away with 20 bucks a week or so. And sadly one of the largest fashion fashion factories in Bangladesh collapsed and killed several workers. I understand sustainability comes in lots of different forms and we have to be inclusive in understanding the price point of being eco-conscious. I know slow fashion isn’t attainable for everyone including myself. But there’s lots of ways to be more mindful. For instance, although h and m is a pretty bad company, they have their conscious line and they do a donate program where if you bring clothes in you get a discount. Of course my biggest recommendation is shop secondhand for reasonable prices and being sustainable. Don’t even necessarily have to go to thrift store. Curated places like buffalo exchange or online secondhand shopping.
