ah that's a bummer! it was a truly special theatrical experience with a massive screen and incredible sound.

I definitely didn’t hate it, and if I’m being honest I’m not much of a sci-fi guy to begin with, it just didn’t really captivate me the way I was hoping it would. Really loved many other aspects of the film though, the visuals and soundtrack included. The mutations were fucking incredible also.

  4. Almost just as good as the first film imho. They're day and night in terms of scare tactics, but they work so well together.

Finally got round to seeing Happy Death Day 2U which I unfortunately missed in the cinema and after watching it I am annoyed that I did as in all honesty, I think it preferred this to the first film primarily because it is far funnier and the sci-fi element makes it stand apart from its predecessor while building on what came before.

One of those rare sequels that works more so than the original, only other recent film I can think of that has done that was Unfriended: Dark Web.

Rewatched the first Zombieland tonight. Such a fun movie, I really hope the sequel doesn't suck.

It was storming all day yesterday so I checked out the Wolfman (2010), which was fine, and The Thing for the first time.

My thoughts are that The Wolfman could've/should've been so much better and The Thing still holds up to this day. I actually saw the remake first and the original is so much better

Oh my goodness yes haha. I haven't seen the remake prequel thing in years but Carpenter's The Thing is legendary.

The 1978 version of the Invasion of the Body Snatchers is the film for today and it is arguably one the best horror remakes out there with only the likes of John Carpenter's The Thing being a contender I can think of as this beautifully mixes the three best genres of the decade with horror, sci-fi and conspiracy thriller.

Also worth noting that this stars both Donald Sutherland and Veronica Cartwright who separately starred in two other great horror films from the same decade, Don't Look Now and Alien, plus you can't go wrong with the rest of the cast either. I seem to also always mistake Brooke Adams for Margot Kidder or vice versa though for some reason.

Definitely worth a watch though I'd recommend watching the 1956 version as well because while the 1978 version can be seen as remake it can also be seen as a sequel as well, though the seventies version as far as I am concerned is the better of the two.
