One of the most underrated albums of the decade and one of its best R&B albums is “Charlene” by Tweet. It made NPR’s 2016 list but that was about it.

Sorry for quoting such an old post but YES to this quote. What a tremendous album. I'm currently in the making of my list, and this one is definitely part of it.

 

I decided to base this more on records that really shaped how I listened to music and ones that opened my eyes to new kinds of music in these years, more than, "which ones do I enjoy the most now". Before 2010, I was listening to mostly post-hardcore like Chiodos and Pierce the Veil, along with metal, like Opeth, Protest the Hero, and things like that. I started college in '09, started my full time job in my career field in '13, so I've really grown up in these years.
