She is the worst. Her voice is so grating. And like I know I hate on her a lot but most of the time when I hear one of her new songs I won't even know it's her because I don't follow her. I just hear a screechy cheap mess and wonder who it is and when I look it up it's ALWAYS her.

 

Again I'm not a big pop listener by any means but I feel like Lorde was kind of ahead of her time (I know she's still active but she's actually been around pretty long relative to a lot of other stars), I notice a LOT of pop music trends that I didn't really hear before her first album got huge

 

I adored her first album because of that. Her second one bored me to tears.

i quite like big thief and think all of their albums are very good but i find myself almost never in the mood to listen to them more than once

I don't dislike U2, I would just probably never actively listen to them. Coldplay on the other hand I despise from the bottom of my heart.

 

Ghost Stories and Viva La Vida are Coldplay's best albums.

 

U2 is great and Coldplay were good up to a point

A Rush of Blood to the Head is/was a fantastic album. Almost every song is a banger.

 

i don't agree with that, rush of blood has some slouchy moments, mainly i'm thinking about how "warning sign" goes on forever. i do love pretty much all of viva la vida though. very weird band, i feel like they only briefly accessed their real potential on that record and then retreated away from it forever, a few lovely songs on ghost stories aside

 

i love when an unpopular music opinion is "i actually like [seemingly disliked] band," the conversation ends up really productive and nice lol

 

Cocteau Twins are the best band of the 80s.
