Hey now. Look at you. Way cool.

555 is listed on the vinyl sticker so may be the next single. Those who have heard the album, is it a good choice?

I’m so psyched for this album. Haven’t listened to the single too much but every time I do it grows on me more. That fucking sax solo is straight sexy

Interesting to see on some people’s lists of best albums of the decade Invented over Integrity Blues as their preferred Jimmy album of the decade. As much as I liked Invented I’d still choose Integrity Blues. It’s just more consistently great.

  12. It's a real curveball in relation to the rest of the record, but I'd love to see it do well as a single!

Anyone else dreading the idea of another song dropping before the album releases? I've heard 20% of the album already. I don't want to be tempted.

I deleted the singles from Spotify and I’m trying to hold out. I have a history of overplaying singles.

I don’t want to say this is my favorite Jimmy Eat World album since Chase This Light, because I feel like I always say that. But I also don’t NOT want to say it.

It feels just right. More shorter albums, please. A lot of good albums this year that I feel could have been great albums if they hadn’t been 13-18 songs long.

Happy to hear the Chase This Light comment.

I don’t agree with the short album thing. We usually only get an album every two years from a band at best, so make it count. I don’t want the lines of an album and EP blurred. I get not wanting a bunch of stuff that doesn’t fit on an album or what some people call “filler”, but if your wrote 14+ really good songs I am ready for it.

Album length doesn’t matter to me if the length is justified. There is something nice about a tight, concise record, though.

Some of my fav albums are 10 songs and other are 12-14. Bad Religion might be the only band for me that can do 15-16 and have me still enjoy it hahaha

I mean, obviously the quality of the songs matters most, but the more songs you have, the more opportunities there are for a less good song to be on there somewhere. Also just makes it harder to maintain a specific mood, theme, or vibe. This album does all those things really well. I think it's just about the ideal length.

Also, it always makes me laugh when people are like "Oh, eight or nine songs, that's an EP!" On no fucking planet is Born to Run or Celebration Rock an EP. Those are some of the most cohesive, complete albums ever, and their brevity is a huge asset. I'm not necessarily against longer albums, and in theory it's always good to get more music from artists you love, but I'd rather have a perfectly crafted 10-song album where everything is in the right place than something like this year's Taylor Swift record, where everyone makes their own 13 track version because no one likes all the songs. And I like that album a lot, I just think it could have been a full letter grade better with some honest editing.
