A Serious Man is one of my favorite movies, its bleak but the repetitive helplessness is so poetic

Agree with you there. If they're made at all, it'll likely be by AI or something else beyond

I am pretty sure I’m still more terrified of Ledger’s Joker. His Joker was confident and always ahead of the game. This Joker, while being monstrous, feels like he can be reasoned with easier and is only out to get back.

so... I was impressed by this. I loved the cinematography and the haunting score. JP was great. felt the film was dirty, mean, and very uncomfortable. felt more like a horror movie, like Taxi Driver meets Maniac. perhaps after thinking about it more or watching again I may notice issues, but in the moment the movie hooked me.

though I definitely didn't need to see the Wayne's die again haha, for the love of god, let them die off screen in peace haha. I think it would've been just as effective if we saw him follow them down the alley and then cut away.

The guy in the first tweet is insufferable. I don’t know how someone can be proud of any of the stuff he posts.

Reminds me of The Exorcist stairs. Not as cool though.

You know, I find it kind of funny in a way.

Authors of articles (reportedly by some who had not even seen the film) tried to spin an underlying narrative into a movie.

Joker ended up having overtly leftist messaging that contradicts most of what we perceive as behavior and views exhibited by those who identify as incels.

The nature of what preceded this film is unnerving to me. I went to a theater on a Monday afternoon with nervousness exacerbated by articles that I can now in a much better mindset deem as nothing more than moronic and tone-deaf.

I plan on seeing Joker a second time. I was in awe throughout the entire duration of my initial viewing and look forward to experiencing it again with a different mindset.

I drive past the Exorcist stairs pretty often and I always go out of my way to look at them because I still find them genuinely creepy, even though I know it's literally just a staircase lol. I've only even seen that movie one time

It's a good review, but when you edit the excerpt this way, it sounds exactly like some diehard fan of a band saying " yea, but their first album is the best, and nothing else will ever compare..." but with a better vocaublary

I would not say this movie has “overtly leftist messaging.”

I dunno, some of the Chapo crew said it had perfect politics, so maybe it is a little leftist? I mean, what's more leftist than that, lol.

Still haven't seen it yet myself. Still want to. But also still don't.
